More like they didn't bother polishing anything. These MTX bugs were well known for over 6 months. |

| You realize that they did put it out as a torrent and mtx's download system is a torrent system. The torrent tracker got hammered, i'm assuming their tracker was also the same server as the one that was seeding the MW4 file. |

| I understand the thing about being patient and cutting slack, but I also remember them posting how this legal delay gave them extra time to polish this release, well it seems not enough time... |

| Okay I understand the problems. But I read their explanation and they have some good points too. They are asking people to be patient. It is free so why not be patient and give them some slack? |

Damn... If I knew there was going to be THIS much whine about a free game, I'd have brought a few hunks of Cheese to go with it....
Glad to see the the ppl responsible acknowledge the issue and take steps to prevent it moving forward...
More FREE Mechwarrior (titles or expansion) is ALWAYS a good thing.... |

Well, i too think MTX is suckage in pure form. I'll never understand what they smoked when it was decided to force down another bullshit app down everyones throat thats only good for 2 things (MP4 and MW4).
its free huh! Well ebola is free too but that doesn't mean anyone wants it. ^^ |

This isn't air, water, or food. I don't have to have it. It's free. Taken all together, that means I can wait until all the bugs are ironed out and then get it if I want to. Or I can not get it.
As a side note, I seem to remember several posts about how bad MW4 was, and some asking why bother to release it. A lot of complaints I've read here and elsewhere from people ranting and trying to get a bad, free game. |

| I still think MTX should have uploaded the package to file hosting sites then list them on their download page. This is what CD Projekt RED did for The Witcher Enhanced Edition, and AFAIK they NEVER encountered any downloading problems. |

Seems the internet has killed off what was left of people's patience or appreciation for people that actually do things for free anymore. Or you could not make people go through a mountain of bullshit to get 1 fucking file, you know? I mean how hard is is to get the complete file up and mirrored on file sites? It's why they exist. Why not just throw up a torrent? If you want people to register the game to see how many people grab it, that's cool, but enough with trying to force people to use your shitty client they're going to uninstall the moment they got the file - which seems to be about forever for most people anyway. Why do you feel the need to be an apologist for stupidity?
I'll grab this if it ever gets setup on a file site, otherwise whatever. |

You could make all the custom content and patches yourself. Then you wouldn't have to bitch about how to get it. Seems the internet has killed off what was left of people's patience or appreciation for people that actually do things for free anymore. Long live Activision, EA and UBI!!! |

Anyone know if the torrent is still functioning? Will this update require a new torrent?
I'm interested in getting this but I won't be using their content delivery service. |

Blah blah blah.
This boils down to "This is my pet project and, instead of releasing patches like everyone else does with self-installing executables, I'm going to continue to force you to use this buggy piece of shit because, hey, I have Mechwarrior 4 for free...and you don't."
How is version tracking a "much larger problem"? It isn't. For fuck's sake, you could do basic version tracking in Excel! |
