Why not? It didn`t stop great U.S.A Directors from making awesome Nam movies did it??? Platoon ring any bells?? Apocolypse Now???? Full Metal Jacket?????? These movies made alot of money. Great U.S. actors supported by huge num,bers of U.S. movie goers at the Box Office. ;p
A cool game dev team would do it. And it would sell. And be fun as hell.

People will actually buy a game that is "not" made by full team of IW, tbh i really dont think tha Activision has the balls to make anything without the creativeness of IW.
This game will just be a wolf in sheeps clothing, CoD name but the contents that will fall far short of its mark.. |

| I read something on Blues not too far back where they already cleared it up that the next COD won`t be in a Nam setting. At any rate, no COD Nam? No sale. |

| I played MW2 multiplayer earlier as part of the free weekend but can't say I was impressed. Bad Company 2 is a LOT more enjoyable, has better graphics and more varied gameplay. And it's interesting that BC2 is still top of the Steam sales chart, despite the discount on MW2. Then again, a 15% discount on a hugely overpriced game still results in a game that is more than a lot of people are willing to pay. |

Now there is something currently not available for PC games. I am sure if any download service Steam would be one that could do that no problem. I wouldn't mind paying $5 or so to rent a game for a week and if I like it pay the rest of the price to keep it.
Demos are not always good enough presentations of the final games. |

somewhat unrelated but i was able to download the MW2 free play games, MP side only, and play today with almost no issues. apparently they made a ton of bandwidth available.
i hope this becomes a normal thing with all games to be honest, with a service like steam there is no reason you should not be offering customers a chance to play the full game for a short period of time, for little or no cost. maybe a 4 hour trial period after purchase. if in that first 4 hours you realize this was a huge mistake you just pay a $5 rental fee or whatever and get the rest of your payment back. |
