Breach Breach

Kotaku has the story of a PAX East attendee who allegedly attempted to make off with a copy of Breach. According to the story, the suspect allegedly attempted to load the game onto a laptop, which lead to a chase after this was noticed. Apparently only about 14 MB of the approximately 2 GB of Atomic Games' espionage-themed multiplayer first-person shooter was nabbed before the Breach breach was detected. The suspect has apparently skipped bail, and is now a fugitive from justice.

Well, no, they said it was the arraignment for which he failed to show. Still, that's awfully speedy.

Fake shit. If this just happened and he was released on bail, how would they know he skipped already? They wouldn't know till his trial, and at the very least it takes weeks to get a trial date.

Here's the suspect caught on video, it seems. Interesting.

I also am starting to smell marketing ploy.

I actually saw this kid being arrested and put in a police car outside PAX East and was wondering what he had done. Stealing source code for a game was nowhere near my short list of possible crimes.

I take you tossers have never been in 'trouble' with the 'law' in beantown... the write up looks legit enough to me. I'd love to be proven wrong however.

Some of the comments in the Kotaku article are freakin' hilarious...

'What we have here...'...

'is...'...

'a serious breach in the code...'...

*cue upbeat intro music and awesome cgi fades...

Has to be a marketing ploy. If the dude really only made off with 14MB of data, what was he doing, transferring it one floppy at a time?
Huh? I'm sorry, I was thinking about cake.

Hooooooooow the hell did the developers managed to leave the main frame where the game was unattended long enough for a guy to transfer a tiny part of the game?
