BF1943 PC Version "Soon"

The Battlefield Blog has word that Battlefield 1943 has reached the one million unit sales milestone on Xbox LIVE Arcade faster than any previous game. So far the World War II shooter has sold zero units on the PC, but this may change shortly, as they say: "Soon our PC fans will also be able to get in on the action that Xbox 360 and PS3 users have been enjoying since July 2009." Last August EA announced BF1943 for the PC was delayed until early this year.

I just hope the joystick support is better than BC2's is.

In fact, I'd bet dollars to donuts that there will never be a game titled 'Battlefield 3.' Even that would alienate the console crowd. No, I think that series of games is over.

Pretty stupid bet considering they've already said they're working on it.

That was a really LONG wait. For $15, it's at least worth a look. I'm not expecting anything close to a true 1942 successor, so I may just end up liking it for what it is.

The "no new content" thing kind of sucks, was hoping for a slightly expanded version to hit the PC. At this point they're just competing with themselves.

I played the thing for about 30 minutes on XBox and never picked it up again.

Its very well done but its like an abbreviated version of the original. No Ships, consolidated classes.....it just isn't the same..... Pout

Why bother now that BFBC2 has been released? It should have been released first... you know, when console gamers got to play it. A year delay for a console port? No thanks.

Agreed mag.

There is no way in hell they will leave out the console market.

Oh but if BF3 is PC exclusive, then EA/DICE are the saviors of PC gaming. Give me a break, nobody is forcing you to play Heroes, and they spent extra time making the PC version enhanced over the console versions.

It won't be a PC exclusive. I'll eat my hat if it is. Or a hat of your choice, since I don't wear a hat. It doesn't matter, though, since it won't be.

I'll give it a shot. For all that Bad Company 2 was supposed to be a cure for Modern Warfare 2's shortcomings, it sucks in pretty much exactly the same way. At least in the WW2 setting you're not dealing with constant explosive spam everywhere you step.

Wasn't all that interested in this when it was first announced, now much less so since I've gotten my hands on BC2. Can't imagine playing two BF games at once and doing them justice.

I would have purchased this a while ago myself, but I'm engrossed in bad company 2. Too bad really for them, I think alot of consumers like myself feel the same way.

They spent all their time and money on BF Heroes the "Online Piece of Shit Battlefield Game that No One Plays!"

And sacrificed 1943 instead and made it a console game.

Ea/Dice are run by a complete bunch of fucktards.

This is the most bone headed 'marketing strategy' I've ever seen.
Somebody just tell these people to please stop?
Could we put laws in place to reprimand this sort of activity?

Just curious have they got a decent working key setup, bf2 was the worst most pathetic excuse for customizing the key layout i have had the misfortune of coming across, played with the kids last weekend and
we spend like half an hour fighting mysterious key conflicts, still
cant find where that joy button was supposedly assigned. Their father
had a hissy fit and left the game :). in the end i had to unassign all keys
on the page and restart . what a p.o.s interface. The game was ok though
once we got in, but tanks being stopped by all sorts of small obstacles
really wow so real - is this still the same in newer versions.

I'll buy it. DICE rules and their games are second to none. Full of bugs and still shit loads of fun.

I don;t see the point in launching this on PC so late after the console version - BFBC2 is out now and i'm having a lot of fun, but I won;t buy another BF game until BF3 is launched.

If they had released this last year I would have definately bought it ... shame really.
