| Just switched over from a 9600GT to an HD 5770 today. Haven't had a chance to see what it can do yet, but feeling pretty good about making the switch. |

Yeah, this card better be extremely, significantly faster than ATI's offerings, else I will just pass.
$350 for what? A fire in my computer? Needing a new PSU?
I do admit that some of the architecture appears to be interesting, but it also seems to be a bit too early to be truly effective and that's to say nothing of how long it will be before games consistently require it. And it took this long for...this? Waiting to see, but feeling this round is already lost..., Ray |

Assuming that all of the leaked info is correct (and there is very little reason to assume otherwise given the release is that close and also given the fact that there have been zero attempts on nVidia's side to deny any of these rumors) it is outright amazing how nVidia has gone from "pwning" ATI to losing the game (at least for now). Remember how after the release of the G80 uber chip everyone thought that ATI was finished? G80 seemed to be from another world back then. Everyone thought that nVidia had managed to achieve a technological leap that ATI would have a very hard time of catching up with (if ever).
And now... this? This is all they got? A noisy, hot, power-hungry, steaming pile of shit?!? WTF?!?
I really, really hope that nVidia has a plan B for the holiday season of this year at the latest. One can only hope that they already know and realize that Fermi is a failure and that they have started working on a redesign or a new design a few months ago already so that the next gen (= what Fermi should have been) is ready for launch in a few months from now. Otherwise things are gonna go downhill for them very fast. At least in the discreet graphics card sector.

It's like taking a hammer to a keyboard cause you got a sticky key.
Brute force indeed Nvidia.... That's really quite disappointing that they might go the way of the voodoo (god it reminds me so much of that).
300w... HOLY SHIT! The day a computer hits 1KW of power to operate is the day I decide to forget having top of the line and stick to lower power alternatives. Electricity has been going up 15% per year here... just to run my pc I'll have to sell an extra organ a month to keep that running =\
Time for the video boys to join the CPU race in lowering power consumption and lowering heat generation while increasing in performance, even if it means for 1 generation we get the same level of performance without the massive power requirements (ie when cpus did the jump to dual core cpus). |

| $500 and 300 watts for 5-10% faster than ATI's $400 190 watt card. Ha! |
