Just Cause 2 Using Steamworks

Square Enix London Studios community manager Mike Oldman tweets about Steamworks support in Just Cause 2, the action sequel coming from Avalanche Studios later this month. In response to a question about whether the game will use Games for Windows LIVE or Steamworks, he responds: "Just Cause 2 uses Steamworks all the way." Thanks Shacknews.

All I can say is "At least it's not GFWL."

That was my first thought.

All I can say is "At least it's not GFWL." If they are going to mandate third party software, I'd rather it be something I already have and find useful.

As far the lack of XP support, I couldn't care less. I gave XP up once Vista's driver issues got ironed out. Only advantage to WinXP now is if you really really have to use some old unsupported hardware or software that no one's worked out a Vista/Win7 fix for.

If you don't like where gaming is heading, stop giving your money to the people who are taking it in that direction.

Can't say I like Steam one bit, but like other DRM guess I'll have to deal if the game turns out good.

PC userbase? Maybe a little, but not much since most people will be buying one of the console versions.

Wow, Steamworks AND no XP support...

Depending on your POV, they're either doing all the right things or doing their best to heavily limit their userbase.
