A PC is so much more versatile I doubt it needs much explaining. While that refurbished laptop might be more powerful (and versatile) than a console, it probably won't play the same current games. Console-versions of games are optimized and watered down a little to allow them to run. Or I guess I should say "PC Ports" of games often suck performance-wise due to lazy coding.
It's not a problem if you don't mind playing 2-year-old games and such.
Plus, some of those console platformers are heller-fun. Sure, given the choice to play an FPS or RTS on a PC or console I'll choose PC every time. Better controls, more options, etc.
But I tend to play platformers and other non FPS/RTS games on my consoles. Ratchet & Clank. Darksiders. Metal Gear. Crimson Skies. etc

My, your nickname sorta suits you because you sure as hell are in for senseless fighting. Funny, though, that you pick the fight with somebody who also has the PC's best interest at heart.
Whatever your problem is (which I guess is rather big, since picking on a harmless little fantasy of mine by insulting me for no real reason) I hope you get it fixed soon, boy. |

But if it did, it would quite matter-of-factly get the PC up from its knees.
But by the way you approached my little fantasy pretty much shows that it is not I who has the brain of a child, but that it is you that lost the touch with yours.
But go on, try your hardest to hog that intellectual spotlight, boiii! Since you're all grown up, you have the right for it and you should grab it!

PC gaming Dead? Uh I dont know Bad Company 2 looks pretty amazing. Plus there are still plenty of worthy titles coming out for the PC that are not ports. Plus PC games shine for multiplayer. All these single player story driven games dont really mean much to me on the PC.

True gamers own all the platforms. You're only hurting yourself. True PC gamers dont have a console, because they are smart enough to know that consoles are hurting PC gaming. |

There still are, I turn my 360 on like once a year when I have a strong desire to play some action game rental, I game on my PC almost daily, both for SP and MP.
How about we don't go alarmist about the state of PC gaming for the umpteenth time because of a single cancellation(and I even doubt that it's actually canceled as I said, doesn't make even a smidgen of sense to blueball people in one month just like that). It's doing the same it's been doing for the past 20 years, now: seriously, I want an official statement on this matter, from the people who made the fiscal report or Visceral. |

Somehow I doubt they'd cancel the PC version of Dead Space 2 a month after announcing it.
Yeah I heard about DS1's PC sales but it's not like one month changed anything. I have a feeling someone just put an X into the wrong category because it's hard to imagine them making a handheld Dead Space after how "well" Extraction sold(four times fewer than the PC version of Dead Space!) and the PR division is none the wiser about that.
And if it actually was canceled(I very much hope to hear a real, official statement on the matter if it's true), well, I'll be very sad. I have a 360 to play it on in that case but I'd prefer not to play anything on it when I have a gaming PC. Especially not a shooter. |

If you do already own one, the first game on PC was just a pure console port anyways, so you're not missing out on anything.

| the demographic this game was, and is designed for are console owners, i hope the rest of the cross platform games follow suit so we can rid pc's of the cookie cutter filth thats been bringing down the real and distinct genre of pc games. not pc as a console gaming emulator genre. thats not to say there are no good games on consoles, it is to say that ppl who are more geared towards consoles, tend to prefer a push button instant on/instant noodle experience vs. home built pc/ home cooked from scratch experience that pc gaming used to provide. i for one am tired of eating kraft dinner disuised as home cookin on my pc. |
