You obviously haven't if you believe the bullshit Microsoft is spouting on this one. Read my entire post next time or read it again (especially the first paragraph) since you obviously didn't understand it.

but that whole "holding back the 360" is just a bullshit excuse for Microsoft to force XBOX owners to buy a 360 if they want to play online.

You've never written any software before have you?

100 friends on xbox live?
Sheesh. Get a life.

Says the guy with over 10,000 post on Blue's News.

Yea, but I don't have any friends!

Now, my Steam lists has a LOT of peeps, but I clear anyone out who has been offline for more than 6 months or I don't remember when I last played with them.

The groups help for finding games.....

So, fucking break compatibility then. It's not like the XBOX and XBOX 360 have to run the same live client software. Let original XBOX users only communicate with other original XBOX users if you can't just limit the original XBOX users to fewer than 100 friends while XBOX360 and GFWL users can have more. You don't have to throw the XBOX off the entire system. Windows users can still run older versions of the Windows/MSN messenger on Microsoft's chat network even if the older versions don't have as many features as the newer software. This is no different from a technical standpoint.

I personally don't care either way because I wouldn't touch a console especially not one from Microshaft, but that whole "holding back the 360" is just a bullshit excuse for Microsoft to force XBOX owners to buy a 360 if they want to play online.

No, it's worse because Microsoft just cutoff every single game in one swoop, and bricked the whole console with regards to online play.

The old Xbox is holding back development on some software fronts, people have been crying about wanting more than 100 friends on their friends list and MS couldn't do this without breaking compatibility with the original Xbox due to it's stringent resources. I'm sure all of the people playing Halo 2 will cry about this but whatever, this isn't like EA cutting off a game a year after it's released.

That's not what the article is about (I thought the same thing). MS is cutting off online for original Xbox games.

Microsoft: No More Original Xbox Games Over Xbox Live - Xbox Live.

This is actually good for gamers, as the prices of these xbox games were 150% or more of what you could get them everywhere else....
