Ridiculously short-term impression (after a single match): uh-oh. Matchmaking takes forever (and this is coming from someone who's fine with matchmaking on most console games), and when the host quits, your game is over. Not good.
The gameplay itself is slow (I played as a marine) and it often spawns you and an Alien across the room from each other (guess who wins that matchup). And movement is more critical than aiming - if you're not spraying, anyway. I was playing with a gamepad, and still tied for 1st when the host bombed out (of course, that might just be the people I played against). I'll go back for a mouse round, but even with the sensitivity jacked, turning was molasses-slow.
I think I'll be sticking to single player on this one.
Oh, one last caveat: the demo is DX9-only. I thought it looked damn good, but if you're expecting to show off your ATI 5xx0 series, I'd hold off on the screenshots.
Edit: mouse helps some, not much - with the sensitivity up, something still feels slow about aiming as a marine. Also, needs lobby mute, desperately - I got stuck with someone who basically sounded like a completely unfunny version of Dane Cook sitting down to play the game for the first time.

I think season 7 was great! Season 6 was meh, indeed.
Season 8, well... I think it's awesome! Normally I don't really like women with a role like Renee has, but that actress isn't getting on my nerves at all! I already liked her in Season 7 and she's again performing very well.

My next door neighbor had a C64. We played a lot of games.

no they're not.
this once dreamed about utopia where pc and console players get to play on the same mutliplayer environment is never going to be a mainstream feature. Yeah, I remember that but it never got popular. Some games did like Quake, WoW, etc. for different computers. I don't know if there were any games between PCs and consoles. Were there any?

Verno, right but it's only deathmatch demo. DM is old and boring to me. They should had included other modes too.
Yeah you're probably right but man, it's a demo and no one has demos these days so I'm happy just getting one.
Honestly I'm more peeved that Steam is going to be down for maintenance a good chunk of the night that this comes out. I think this is Steamworks enabled(lobby frontend for dedicated servers possibly?) so when Steam goes down for maintenance on Thursday we might not be able to play  |
