I got a hundred dollar angle grinder for 20bux at Bunnings the other day. If they hadn't of destroyed the business of every other hardware store in Aus, I would still be being extorted by those shady family owned cartels. |

Beamer wrote on Jan 20, 2010, 14:45: Of course, the Samsung/Rambus dispute never made it to trial, so it must be the judges fault that Samsung settled. It was the judges that overturned the FTC's ruling that Rambus was openly abusing an agreement that was made as part of an Open Development Group. It was the SCOTUS that refused to hear the same case, saying the district court of appeals had it right.
So, yeah, unless you want to blame the tooth fairy, or something, it's pretty much the judges being morons that's the cause for Rambus now being able to STEAL billions of dollars from other memory manufacturers, who had all agreed to share designs on the DRAM standard when they developed it so long ago.
But, I'm sure you'll be cheering happily when Rambus' bullshit makes memory prices go up shortly.
Keep cheering for the big guys, Beamer. I'm sure they'll reward your loyalty at some point.

Once again, Beamer fails to see the big picture. Did you ever think there's a reason Samsung decided to forgo trial and the costs involved when they knew they were going to get fucked? You think companies like Samsung just willingly hand over a billion dollars? So yeah, it would - in part - be the judges fault. |

I wonder how much of Rambus' money ended up in their pockets.

Fucking judges. Everyone in the whole world knows Rambus pulled a sneaky, backstabbing deal to get royalty money from all its other partners in what was an OPEN STANDARD DEVELOPMENT. So what do the judges do? Well, they're going to award them billions and billions of dollars for what basically amounts to theft.
Well done, judges. Be proud of yourselves.
