German Truck Simulator and Demo Released

SCS Software announces the release of an English-language edition of German Truck Simulator from the folks behind 18 Wheels of Steel and Euro Truck Simulator. A playable demo is available, and here's word on the game: "Drive across a realistic depiction of Germany, visit its beautiful cities, choose from over sixty kinds of cargo, and deliver them on time! Grow your truck fleet and hire the most experienced drivers to build up your business!" The demo is mirrored on AtomicGamer, FileFront, and Gamer's Hell.

We need a Game Designer Simulator. Build a game within a game.

Shortly thereafter someone will design a game simulator within the game simulator and collapse a black hole somewhere.

im into sims and everything, but this is pretty banal. ita like a sim for a call center or something. its doable - but why?
Go forth, and kill!

Well, in all fairness, that is the definition of a simulation...

I'm sure there's a niche there, just like the fans of rail sims and sailing sims and space shuttle sims and...

Personally, I enjoyed some of the 18 WoS games, but they haven't been all that deep and most have had the same type of gameplay as the previous one they replace. The last one, Extreme Truck, was a little different and I think they should capitalize on that. I mean, they're not truly simming trucks yet - they still don't have the option for the truckstop hooker mode...

80 tons, actually

I really do wonder who plays or buys these games though.. I tried on of the earlier 18WoS games and.. its exactly what you think it is, extremely boring to drive over the highways, observe light signals, and hell even get punished for not indicating a lane change.
