Modern Warfare 2 DLC on 360 First [Updated]

The DLC for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on the Xbox 360 before Windows, reports Destructoid from CES 2010. Details are not supplied on the length of the release gap between platforms, who said this, or in what context. Update: This is corroborated by Xbox Live's Major Nelson (thanks kimbambaman), who writes: "This Spring, the first Modern Warfare 2 content packs will be available exclusively first on Xbox LIVE."

So much for giving us that "same console experience" heh? Screw 'em anyway. I'm over it. They may actually have saved me some money because I'll never buy another FPS without dedicated server support again. Come on Treyarch... my hopes are now pinned on you for a proper COD PC experience.

This exclusivity clause for the DLC has been known for a long time... well before the release of the game. And seeing as how the 360 is the de-facto home platform for the game, no one should be surprised by this.

EA made that complaint, they claimed it's why Activision is doing better than they are financially. To be fair they did support the PS3 fairly well in terms of multiplatform games and didn't see a large return on it. PS3 games tend to sell far less than their Xbox360 counterparts on multiplatform titles.

Was it Activision or EA that complained supporting the PS3 early on was a major cause of weak profits? Either way, not surprised to see this...
