| I really like L4D2, I just get tired of the hard locks that reset my pc. Appears I am not the only one with this issue. Usually after 1 hour or so of play, it decides it wants to lock/hard freeze and auto reboots my machine. Lovely. |

| We'll see how that holds up in a few weeks when you've replayed the maps and existing game modes many times over. Personally I think L4D2 will make it or break it based on how support is done over time, I see a lot more fence sitters this time around, probably as a result of the demo being very lackluster. Their preorders were up according to Valve but it will be interesting to see how actual post release sales panned out. |

I could rattle off a list of complaints for L4D2, beginning with the stats and achievements being reset and some not tracking properly. Doesn't change that I still think it's a far better game than L4D1 and well worth the $34 I payed for it.

Pretty much every game ever is a huge gushfest from the people who wanted to love it or those who haven't had their fill yet and moved onto complaints. You have to wait at least three weeks to get a realistic response. I'm sure I'll have plenty of complaints about Dragon Age in two more weeks time as an example |

| Let us know what you think about the game in a couple more weeks. The original was plenty of fun for a short while, and had lots of very glowing reviews when first released, but it got real old real fast. With only 5 maps (and just 2 good ones from what I hear), I'm wondering if we'll see the same thing with L4D2. |

| L4D1 doesn't hold a candle to L4D2; it's basically everything the original should have been. I was on the fence about getting L4D2, but I'm glad I did. |

I really liked the demo, but I swore I would not pay full price for this game after the bait and switch Valve pulled with the first one. 30 bucks seems reasonable; if anyone goes to Gamestop buy me a copy - I'm good for it. Or better yet, gift it to me because I'm a nice guy. There will be a $25 sale before Christmas, stay strong my friend |

ForgedReality: Thats why whenever you play with someone good, you add them to your friends list. They also tend to have good players as friends. Then when you play a game, if you don't want to be dependant on others, you play with people in your friends list.
Also with L4D2, it wasn't just maps. And not just weapons. And not just weapon upgrade. And not just special ammo types. And not just new special infected that totally change the strategy (for instance, with spitter you can't camp a corner for an event anymore, no more lame almost exploit tactics like hiding behind the bed in no mercy). And not just new finale styles (like never ending hordes until you run through a roller coaster track and shut off an alarm) There's also some great new game modes. Like scavange which I'm loving. It gives you the versus experiance, but in 15 minutes instead of 2 hours. Its what survival mode in L4D1 should have been. Imagine survival amped up and combined with versus. Since my favorite game mode in L4D1 was versus, this is a HUGE plus for me. Also there's realism, for those who think L4D is just too easy.
None of this stuff was in the demo (special infected were there but you couldn't play as them, weapons were there but not all of them), you couldn't play any of the new modes. It was a HORRIBLE demo. I dunno why valve did the exact same thing they did with demo last time despite it being even less representative and the previous complaints about L4D1 demo. It bored me to tears about I played twice. But when I got the actual game, wow. Its 1,000 times better.
This game is FAR better than L4D1, and has more content in retail release (even when you add in the scarce DLC that valve did for L4D1). So I think its easily worth the $30.

Yeah, really. What could they have possibly ADDED to the game to make L4D2 "far far better?" IMO, what they need to do is completely change the gameplay. Just adding new maps and shit isn't going to fix a broken gameplay mechanic. The thing only has so much replay value, and what it has gets boring fast.
See, Serious Sam was fun because the spamhordes you got hit with were EASY to kill. In L4D, you have a shitton of medium, hard, and really-hard to kill guys flying in your face. Dying because the assholes you were automatically paired with suck or don't know wtf they're doing isn't cool either.
They got a lot of things right with TF2. As I see it, though, they got very little right with L4D. That, and zombies are kind of played out. Not my kind of game, I guess. |

Grand Theft Auto IV on Direct2Drive. Now $29.95. I'd wouldn't call that a sale when everyone else sells this for $19.99. Amazon had it for $16.50 last week (it's $19.47 right now). |

| I'll take your word for it. I don't follow up on L4D2 much so I'm sure I missed what you said. Not the best idea to release boring maps for a demo though. I thought the purpose was to get my interest, not drive it away. |

| I hate dealing with the masses of humanity in the best of times, and Black Friday is certainly not the best of times. I wouldn't go to a retail store if they were giving stuff away for free. Thankfully, more and more e-tailers are having their own Black Friday online deals every year. |

| $30 is still too much for an expansion pack. I'll wait until Valve does one of there "you can drop it to $5 dollars and jack it back up and still make money" sales. |

No thanks, I'm done fighting crowds on black friday, especially at those tiny gamestops. I can see it now, Soccer moms clogging up the aisles asking the gamestop dweebs to find games with butchered up names because they don't know what the hell they are supposed to be buying. And then asking a million questions about the stupid game while everyone waits in line after them rolling their eyes.
Nope, I get up around 9 or 10 and go to a few stores. If they still have what I want I get it, if not, no big deal. |

if the demo was an accurate representation It's not. As I posted in another thread, the two maps in the demo are probably the 2 most boring maps in all the campaigns.
Overall it's probably as fun as L4D Personally I think it's a far far better game than L4D was, or that any amount of DLC could have made it. There are far too many changes and new content that couldn't have been released as DLC.
But they have certainly failed with their Achievement system for L4D2. I had lost at least 1 achievement prior to today, and noticed another that was not tracking progress. And now I've just looked and ALL of my L4D2 achievements and gameplay stats have been reset to zero.

| To each his own - if the demo was an accurate representation, I wouldn't consider L4D2 until $20 or less. Overall it's probably as fun as L4D, but... I already have that. |

$30 for L4D2, not a bad price at all.
I still wish valve had kept thier word about the DLC and support of L4D1, but the amount of stuff they put in L4D2 is definately worth $30. |
