| Is there really any doubt as to what game will win this award? Let's see, which game has already sold 5 million copies..? |

No Dragon Age? Seriously lacking in credibility. That's the first thing I said when I saw the nominees. They include two games released this week (AC2 and L4D2) but no DA:O? What is possibly the best PC RPG since Baldur's Gate?
Spike's awards were never very friendly to RPGs anyway. Those meatheads probably thought Modern Warfare was an RPG since it had (R)ocket (P)ropelled (G)renades in it. |

AC2 was terrible, and Batman wasn't much better... and how can L4D2 even be considered? It hasn't been out for 48 hours yet.
Assassin's Creed 2 came out the same time as L4D2...are you sure you know what you're talking about, or just playing a game of What's In My Butt Today?
Batman is also a pretty highly regarded game everywhere that I've read about it, even here where nobody likes anything. |

The problem is that they want to have it before the year is over, so they're stuck either not including games released 2 months before the year is over (which would look bad in a month from now during the award broadcast if it really is the best game), or including games that look like they will probably be good but aren't really possible to judge yet
And while I'm still looking forward to playing Dragon Age (boo for not having time anymore), an RPG is never going to beat action games in an award like this (from a gaming mag, maybe; from Spike TV? nope) |

Batman: Arkham Asylum was quite good. I don't know if the PC port was bad but for PS3 it was quite fun.
I don't believe I'm alone in this belief, as several members on BluesNews have agreed that it was a good game. The PC version was great. They upped the textures, and also added a bunch of Physx stuff. It was worth disabling one GTX260 for the extra effects. |

| It's obviously going to be either MW2 or Uncharted 2. Who cares though really? This is a pretty meaningless award. |

| PC port had some issues that were patched up but overall it was fine. The list itself is a bit of a joke considering the inclusion of two games that were just released, one of which requires some considerable multiplayer time to properly review. |

This list is clearly skewed. No Borderlands, but Batman and AC2? AC2 was terrible, and Batman wasn't much better... and how can L4D2 even be considered? It hasn't been out for 48 hours yet. Batman: Arkham Asylum was quite good. I don't know if the PC port was bad but for PS3 it was quite fun.

It was also ranked/reviewed favorably well, though that obviously doesn't mean much in today's world of purchased-reviews. |
