Safe to say people that run in admin 100% of the time are retards.

Tell me, would you run your 'nix system in root? If you said yes, you deserve what you get.

I turned it off. Damn thing was driving me crazy. Much better now, aside from all these damn popups and weird charges on my credit card bills.

Throw a bunch of unintelligible messages at users with a yes/no button, and they're going to quickly learn to just say yes to everything or just turn the damn security thing off altogether. People usually install the bad crap themselves, sometimes along with the app that they really want. They don't know what service or executable should be doing what, so asking them is pointless.

UAC was never meant to be a One Stop Protection against trojans or virusses. It's just meant to be another level to make it slightly harder for a trojan to take over your PC. That it can be bypassed is stupid, but also really not that surprising, since the only way to make it so it can't be bypassed it to FORCE a keypress on every single thing your computer does.

Which obviously wouldn't work.

Put good anti-virus and anti-spyware on your system and the fact that UAC isn't really stopping anything is no problem at all.

When the security fixes become worse than what they're protecting against, changes need to be made...or else what's the point?

Wow, way to jump on a year-old topic there, researcher...
