Bloodlines Patch Plans

The next unofficial patch for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines will offer "the biggest content restoration in one go ever," as hard as that is to imagine after so many of these patches over the years. This seems worth noting since folks might be picking up the game since it's on sale at Direct2Drive for under five bucks. Word is: "Acleacius, please don't start playing 6.5 because 6.6 will be released soon and this one has the biggest content restoration in one go ever, so I really need to get some good feedback!" For everyone interested, most missing quest sequences and items have already been restored in the versions up to 6.5. What I did for 6.6 was looking through all the game files for unused character textures and scenery models. So don't expect a lot of gameplay changes but rather more original Troika models and stuff to improve the atmosphere of this classic! As for why I do this, IMHO Bloodlines is one of the best games ever and fixing and restoring lost content is such a lot of fun :)!

I was all ready to start my new 6.5 game, my Malk female was dressed to kill (skinned as Goth Heather) and Wesp had to go start talking about 6.6, how wude!

Yes, improvements have been made, you are best to read the Readme. Here is an example.

Patched engine.dll and shaderapidx9.dll files are included to repair
the coronas-gone-after-reloading and blurry-or-missing-textures-with
-more-than-2-GB-memory bugs, also the downloadable vampire.dll file.

Most often unless you have a computer that will just not run it, i.e. too old of hardware and some laptops. All you need to do is brief search in the Tech Support forum, if you have no luck then make a post, most are glad to help.

I love this game, but last time I tried to play it I had a lot of problems. Do these patches just modify the content or do they improve the engine as well? My guess is they don't, but I'd love it if they did.

It's come to my attention that the link I provided Blue was page 20 for me, since I was logged on and get 50 posts per page, instead of the a non logged in visitor who would see it as about page 32.

This is not a personal email to me, Wesp responded to my question. I was getting a late start testing version 6.5 and it's the Official Bloodlines forum in the Bloodlines Unofficial Patch thread at Gamespy, page 20 of 21.

Bloodlines is one of my favorite games, have been helping with the Unofficial Patch (originally by DanUpright), since Bloodlines released. Dan was the one who help the Programmers at Trokia find and fix the game breaking bug at Society of Leopold. We were all at Dilapidation the original Official forums helping test, where Leonard and team often posted as they did on other Bloodlines forums.

Wesp took it over after about 6 months iirc, which means he has been working on it about 4.5 years now (Damn thanks, Wesp! Cheers

).

The Unofficial Patch by Wesp, now has a Sleek Installer and does install the Official 1.2 version patch, iirc (been so long since I installed). You can choose between the just bug fixes, the Basic version or you can choose to have the In game Content Restored, the Plus version. Most choose the Plus version since it fixes bugs and tries to Restore all the content from the Installed game, as close as possible to what was intended by Troika.

Troika tried to stay as much as possible within the The Masquerade, The World of Darkness fans and community have helped immensely in making suggestions to help restore this content for a even better Bloodlines.

This all means one thing Bloodlines has a birthday coming on the 15th of November, 5 years! Cake

Please take time to read this EXTENSIVE list of fixes. I couldn't find it posted in it's complete form, so I uploaded it to Filefront.

I don't think you need to apply the official 1.2 patch anymore. The custom patch takes care of that.

Uhh... what content restoration? Quests that the original team cut out before launch? Graphics update? Or just more bug fixes to the quests available? (which seems fairly fixed as of 6.4)
