Painkiller: Resurrection Released, New Demo

A proper version of the demo for Painkiller: Resurrection is now available, after the accidental release of an older version of the demo last week. The sample of Homegrown Games' installment in the first person shooter series can be found on the JoWooD Entertainment Website and mirrored on AtomicGamer and Worthplaying. The game is also now available for purchase, and Steam is selling a Painkiller Collectors Pack that includes Resurrection as well as Painkiller: Black Edition and Painkiller: Overdose.

I just played it through. It looks nice enough, but level design could definitely be a lot more polished. I think I'd rather go back and play the original Painkiller. It's not awful... it's just lacking by comparison.

So this proper one is still awful?

I remember trying the 1st PainKiller demo for the Original. It was pretty cool.

Cool? It was fucking EPIC!

PK was the technically the first game out of the gate that had physics that truly affected gameplay (it was being played while Valve was still showing off Source to people at E3). There was nothing cooler than "juggling" dead bodies with the Painkiller alt-fire.

Stay away from this until (if ever) they fix the multiplayer. Keeps crashing every minute, literally. And that is if you even get the game going...

Horrible demo, but then I haven't been into the Painkiller style since... well, Painkiller.
