I don't know about transitions being "done right", as it does seem a tad non-eventful -moving at the enormous speed that craft must have been moving in order to get from space to ground in so short a time (even if the planet is tiny), you'd think there would be massive amounts of turbulence-induced vibrations, or perhaps some plasma effects from air colliding with the craft being super-heated. However, relatively speaking, everything else is certainly done right -the objects look realistic, specifically, the texture imagery is pleasing to the eye compared to the colors-for-the-sake-of-colors in Smart's game, and the planet actually looks like a planet with ground detail that...well, with ground detail. In short, the scenery in this video, while nothing spectacular by any means, is vastly superior to Galactic Command. From a gameplay point of view, who knows?

How were things in the "Old Days"?? I've been posting in the comments since '99 and they seem the same to me. |

I think I have said my piece so I shall just go back to lurking and it is not likely that anyone at 3000AD will post here again until things change and the forum returns to being how it was in the old days.
Yes, well, I often wonder about people who are always looking for the "old days", although this does make some logic coming form a person who has worked at 3000AD.
NEWS FLASH - Old days are yesterdays news, coming tomorrow, New days!
A base drive that as server me well is to always remember that things are always gonna change, be dynamic.
Thought 33 years of life, I have yet to ever see a thing return to the old days!
This does you well as a life lesson, times of depression will past, the future is full of unexpected changes. |

Why couldn't Derek's game be like X3? Because then they wouldn't be Battlecruiser. By that I mean they would be fun, enjoyable games from a developer that listens to its fanbase. |

Would the cosmos implode if Derek Smart started a flame war with his anon account? I wonder. |

Blue should consider banning Derek Smart or at least his smurfs, developer or not. rope-a-dope is a smurf of Derek Smart -- it is him. Being a developer doesn't mean you should be able to get away with insults and flaming people under anon accounts.
Dear Blue,
I really wouldn't believe that Smart even has a 'team' of people who post. Do they all live at his house / office and work there? Is there a list of staff that work for his company? Why doesn't this person identify himself via his real name and prove he's an employee? Why does he express himself exactly like Derek Smart?
Just some questions to consider when there is a claim that it isn't Smart writing.
Anyone can claim they are anyone on the Internet.

So what's it like working for the Supreme Commander? Is he actually a charming guy in real life? Does the job pay well or do you work on commision? It's like we finished reading a really long book and started reading the sequel!
