Final 2 L4D2 Campaigns Revealed?

This Taiwanese Website has what appear to be the two movie posters showing off the two unrevealed campaigns in Left 4 Dead 2. One poster is titled "Hard Rain," subtitled "Come Hell and High Water," depicting a flooded factory complex, and the other is "Dead Center," subtitled "Prices Aren't the Only Things Getting Slashed," showing the now-clichéd zombie location of a shopping mall. Thanks Kotaku.

Did i miss something later on in this game?

The basic gameplay wasn't the most interesting part of the game. The general gameplay is not a lot different than something like pain killer or serious same. You go from point A to B and kill everything. The theme is obviously well represented with zombies running at you screaming and clawing at you but the big feature was supposed to be the director. They claimed that the director was able to adjust the difficulty of the game as you played to give you a more difficult experience. Imagine a dungeon master in D&D that doesn't like you and tries to come up with more and more ways to kill you as you progress...

That never took shape, the director seems to have been neutered or something. One thing I remember being excited about was the triggers that might be used. Like a gas station blowing up, zombies come from all directions, or a car alarm going off, zombies come from all directions. In most cases this is a death sentence in the game, you either run or die. (If you're lucky you find a corner you can shoot from) But that was not in the directors control so if you're just massacring everything the director seems unable to do anything about it.

The game quickly loses it's replay value when the experience feels so similar each time. The sequel is supposed to expand on this by giving you multiple paths through each area, and some paths would be more difficult than others...

I'm pessimistic about the improvements personally. I don't think they've had time to develop the game into what they initially wanted it to be.

But being constructive I might say that one of the short comings in this game is the infected types. Instead of having a variety of infected for the directed to choose you have 3 for most of the game. So you just keep seeing the smoker, blob, and hunter all day long. Occasionally the juggernaut spawns and you come across a witch from time to time but making more types of infected might have been more exciting so the director actually has something to choose between.

If you look at a game like serious sam or painkiller and realize how many different types of enemies are in those it should be obvious what's missing from L4D (and L4D2). Those games also built interesting levels to run around and tons of enemies to kill including boss types and types needing more than 1 or 2 hits. (ala infected).

L4D had excellent marketing. They knew exactly what to tell people in order to get them to purchase. And it didn't hurt that the theme of their game is extremely popular and they discovered that as low as they set the bar most fans of this genre will be happy with anything so why bother improving on the original, just make another one and stick a "2" at the end.
