Out of the Blue

As hard as it is to believe, today is the 13th anniversary of this site moving to its own domain, as it was on this day back in 1996 that bluesnews.com went online. I would like to thank you all for your support over the years, as well as to thank those who send in news tips and other links. This also seems like a good opportunity to mention some changes are in the works over the next few weeks here. I won't go into detail now, which is bound to provoke speculation, but not to worry, I have no doubts that these will be viewed as positive developments.

It's been good times, Blue. Thanks, pal. And thanks to the best online community out there. Almost everyday someone is providing me with a laugh or something to think about. And whilst changes aren't permanent but change is, don't go changing too much Blue. If ain't broke...

Hope you had the time of your life!

Day one buy

- I'll get the last stand DLC, but since it's free I'm not sure it counts as a buy.

- Dragon Age. I love Bioware. Always have. Hope I always will *looks at E fucking A pointedly.*

Wait until cheaper :

- MW2
- Risen

Still to play :

- Witcher. Still haven't played it. Doesn't look like I will anytime soon.

Other things to get :

- PS3 slim, so I can get Star Trek on Blue Ray.

Not that many games I look forward to anymore.

T-shirts? Mailbag? Na, those'll never happen.

Games on my list (PC only)
Left 4 Dead 2 (Pre-Order)
Borderlands (Pre-order)
Defense Grid: The Awakening (Today)
Dragon Age CE (Pre-Order, will get DLC day one)
Torchlight (maybe, wait for reviews)
I'm not going to list anything outside of a 2009 release date, and there are a few that I'll only grab if a great sale rolls around.

Still to Play
Braid
Kings Bounty: The Legend

Need to Finish
World of Goo
Obulis
Plants vs Zombies (well, I don't have everything yet)
Eets
Obviously, I love casual games. They also get played with that style in mind

Playing
Red Faction: Guerilla
Titan Quest: Immortal Throne

I'll pick up a game here and there when they go on sale, but for the most part I didn't purchase anything all spring and summer. Now I'll overload myself and spend all winter working through the backlog (and yet I'll still buy on day one...) Until now there hasn't been much in the way of major releases this year that have really grabbed my attention

I went w/ Champions Online because I was in a super hero mood and was sick of City of Heroes. I'm enjoying it. I'm also enjoying some Defense Grid and Supreme Commander from time to time.

But honestly the only upcoming PC game that I'm interested in is Star Craft 2 and perhaps Supreme Commander.

I've more or less gone the console route for most of my gaming.

Now if a great FPS comes out I may jump on that if my rig can support it, and I might buy up small little games like Plants vs Zombies and such. But really, most of the upcoming games have console ports and those that don't I could skip.

Oh, unless there is ever a new Tie Fighter game... then I'd definitely buy that on release.

I'm not interested in shit coming out on the PC, and haven't been for a while. I guess maybe Tropico 3, and I did just get Majesty 2 having been a big fan of Majesty. Diablo III is literally the only title I'm looking forward to.

MW2 would have been of massive interest to me, and was, until they forsook my sale with that wonderful little $60 price tag.

Honestly most games that catch my eye these days are on PS3, and not owning said system is becoming an increasingly noticeable thorn in my side.

9. Holiday season games... Oct 9, 2009, 14:17 Krovven

So I decided to make a list for myself as I kept remembering games that I was interested in, but not necessarily getting right away, due to price, being busy with other games, etc.

Interested to see what games coming out are priorities for everyone else and what is still lingering to be finished.

Day one buy
Demon Souls (pick up today?) - PS3
Uncharted 2 (Oct 13) - PS3
DoW2 Last Stand-free DLC (Oct 13) - PC
Torchlight (Oct 27) - PC (when on Steam)
Left 4 Dead 2 (Nov 17) - PC

Pick up later
Brutal Legend (Oct 13) - PS3 (xmas?)
Borderlands (Oct 26) - PC (after reviews)
Ratchet & Clank (Oct 27) - PS3 (xmas?)
Dragons Age (Nov 3) - PC (reviews, after The Witcher)
CoD MW2 (Nov 10) - PC (when cheaper)
God of War Collection (Nov 17) - PS3 (xmas?)
Dirt 2 (Dec) - PC (Still playing GRiD & DiRT)

Still to play
Batman Arkham Asylum - PC (in progress)
Valkyria Chronicles - PS3
The Witcher - PC

Various - still playing
Little Big Planet - PS3
GRiD - PC
Dirt - PS3
Dawn of War 2 - PC
Company of Heroes: OF & Tales of Valor - PC
Zeno Clash - PC
GTAIV - PC (sorta waiting for PC upgrade)

Will Bronco finally get his coffee mug?

Seriously tho - I'd still support the site by buying stuff like that - or a polo shirt.

Congrats on the anniversary Blue.

Daily Candy in Childhood Linked to Violence in Adulthood.

Also in January, this was being considered in the UK.

The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.
