Bear in mind, we're not talking about doing a respec like you get in WoW. This is called retcon, and with it you can change out absolutely every power your hero has. The ability to do this is unheard of in an MMO, and hell it should be expensive.

Yeh.

People were FLIPPING OUT in-game and on the forums about how expensive a complete retcon was in Champions Online... and this was before they did the post-release nerfs.

I recall thinking "OK, I'm not an MMOG expert but as far as I know respeccing isn't incredibly common/easy and I don't recall many of them letting you do complete 180s with your character. Blaster <-> Tank or Mage <-> Druid"

Think: Superman losing his Kryptonian powers and becoming Spider-Man.

CoX for example, yeh respecs were obtainable but in the end you were just tweaking your power selections a little, reslotting your enhancements, and perhaps choosing from some support power pools (travel power, extra attributes, etc).

Champions lets you go from a melee tank to a a sniping blaster in the blink of an eye. It should be expensive!

Personally I'm enjoying the game. I can see myself getting tired of it eventually but for now I'm having fun.

More zones would be nice, but the ones they have are more diverse than you can access in early CoX. Face it there's little difference between Atlas Park, Steel Canyon, Glaxy City, etc: they're all cities with a shiny area and a ghetto.

In CO you have a choice between large city (I think larger than the individual CoX cities), a desert, and a frozen wilderness. Eventually there's also Monster Island (which I haven't gotten to) and 2 areas that I don't know how big they are: underwater city and the moon.

The mission tilesets are also a little more diverse.

Like I said, I'm having fun with it. It's not perfect but I'm enjoying it more than CoH.
