The DoubleBear Productions Website is live as home to this new Seattle, Washington-based developer founded by Brian Mitsoda, formerly of Black Isle Studios, Troika Games, and Obsidian Entertainment. As noted on their About Us page, DoubleBear also includes designer Annie Carlson, "best known for her writing on Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir." Their first project is an unnamed RPG being created in conjunction with Iron Tower Studios and their Age of Decadence technology. Word is: "Frequent updates on DoubleBear and their game can be found at www.DoubleBearProductions.com. DoubleBear expects to release details on their first title within the next few months, or whenever there’s a slow news day." Thanks RPG Codex.

Cool news. Cute name. I bet Annie Carlson came up with the concept. Mitsoda's a great writer and designer (e.g. dialogue in Vampire: Bloodlines). Been looking forward to Age of Decadence...kind of strange that they're using that tech since the game's not even out yet, but whatever. I actually thought of DoubleFine when I first saw this headline.

Just in reading the headline, I immediately thought "PedoBear Productions" ... Maybe they should consider a name change...? It's a little close to DoubleFine Productions anyway. And why does it need "Productions" in it? That's a little passe. How about just a one word name like "AngrySauce" or "BearBox" or .. I dunno.

Gotta love those small dev teams....

....gonna be watching this one closely....Im aching for a good RPG and the worst part is that I have a nagging suspicion that the latest Bioware game isnt going to cut it....
