Low sales blamed on piracy in 3... 2... 1...
#58 You are so full of shit it is not even funny. Game was more than PC's could handle? BULLSHIT! It just amazes me that people who read Blues News are so gullible to actually believe the horse shit reason they fed us stating why it could not come out on PC.
Honestly I do not even know why I am arguing on this. The game got lackluster reviews on console. Hell a utter Star Wars nut that is a friend of mine (actually 2) said it was meh.

The key to stopping this bullshit is to stop buying console games on day one, wait a month, 6 months is even better. Truth. |

Yeah but the whole PC or console isn't about whether we are going to buy PC games, most real PC games get bought, the issue is PC gamers buying consoles and console games is what is killing PC funding.
The key to stopping this bullshit is to stop buying console games on day one, wait a month, 6 months is even better. Then they can't use those first week, month, 6 month numbers to lie about how consoles are better than PC games, then manipulate funding.
The PC community can shift the balance of publishing money back to PC, especially using this current economy against m$ and their market manipulation.
It would be even better for devs, they could build games once and they could build for the highest denominator then just scale back the graphic quality and AI to a level consoles can handle. Additionally there would be only one marketing campaign (cheaper) and games would be higher quality again (more focused development). It's a win, win, well except for m$. |

| I didn't like the console version, but it really miffs me that they had the balls to originally say that standard gaming PC couldn't handle the game because they have omgphysics running in the background. That's huge turn off when a company says crap like that, and again when they later decided to release it and it runs great on even dated hardware. |

The problem with this site is that you have PC Gamers first and foremost, getting lied to and bullshitted on by Publishers and Developers. In this case a Lucasarts Dev said they simply COULDN'T do this game on a PC due to the PC not being powerful enough.
Personally some games I don't mind console ports of as they are genuinely enhanced for PC's and their capability's (Assassin's Creed, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, etc), but like most gamers, I really don't like being lied to. |

I don't think Force Unleashed was particularly well reviewed. It only sold because of hype and the Star Wars brand. A year later, the hype is completely dead. The average score on Metacritic is about 70. For Lucasarts to expect the game to sell well now is a bit shortsighted. I consider a 7 to be relatively well-reviewed... I agree in these times though that 8s and 9s are handed out all over the place, so a 7 is less impressive. Either way, the game was generally well liked in my circles.
That said, I was also speaking in general terms. |

| I guess I'll go ahead and be the first one to say I really enjoyed this game and found little to complain about, far more enjoyable than most other titles that seem to be critically and commercially successful as of late. |

The star destroyer one is just plain broken. I mean as I consider it a bug. Here’s a tip: When aligning the star destroyer and trying to make it go “yellow” sometimes the directions on the screen will show you to leave your analog sticks in neutral yet it will still be red.
Worst of all, the onscreen control help that tells you when and how to push the analog sticks to move the ship are flat-out wrong much of the time. It's been a while since I played it, but as far as I remember one stick turns it left and right while the other tips it's nose up and down. Once it's properly level you pull both sticks down until Tie fighters turn up and shoot at you. Rinse and Repeat. It's not like the onscreen prompts are necessary in any way for that.
Worse than any dodgy controls is the concept behind the whole section. I mean, pulling a Star Destroyer out of the sky? Not even Darth Vader or the Emperor pulled off that kind of shit, it reeked of pandering to the idiot masses who need something sparkly to gawk at. Whats up for the next Force Unleashed, playing pool with planets? |

Well, when "shitty games" are popular, well reviewed and sell in the millions on console, then sell hardly at all on PC, it looks like PC gaming is fading, whether YOU like the games or not. I don't think Force Unleashed was particularly well reviewed. It only sold because of hype and the Star Wars brand. A year later, the hype is completely dead. Not sure how I feel about this. On the one hand, I'm glad that they're catering to the PC crowd. On the other hand, given the consensus of the game's mediocrity, I wonder how well they can expect it to sell on PC, with no hype masking said mediocrity? Is this just going to be another case of a below-average game not selling well on PC, cementing the perception that PC games don't sell and are therefore a waste of time? This...
I agree it's annoying to be shafted on the game for a year, and the comments they made at release about PCs not being able to run the game were worded poorly and annoying to PC gamers.
That said, they have decided to release the game in a deluxe version for PC gamers after all, and instead of being thanked or even just saying "ok, well, better late then never I guess," they are treated with MORE hostility.
There comes a point where when you complain about EVERYTHING, you make everyone stop caring when you complain. |

But you just know that they'll use the low sales for this PC game as further justification that PC gaming is dead. No, it's because nothing but shitty games have been coming out. Well, when "shitty games" are popular, well reviewed and sell in the millions on console, then sell hardly at all on PC, it looks like PC gaming is fading, whether YOU like the games or not.

Is this just going to be another case of a below-average game not selling well on PC, cementing the perception that PC games don't sell and are therefore a waste of time? The game will still be mass pirated. |
