Personally, I miss the days when gaming was a niche nerd hobby and it wasn't about huge production budgets. Amen to that. |

you know, I really hate it when people do the whole "I called it" nonsense. Claiming they have some clairvoyance into what games will suck and which will be good..etc.
That said...
The instant I saw that demo video with the Jedi with the anger management issues and the over the top force powers, I knew this game was going to be ass and cater only to the lowest common denominator.
Then I found out that Lucas himself had some direct involvement in the game. That only made matters worse.
Is everyone still happy that gaming went mainstream and we have to cater to people who obviously like this crap? Personally, I miss the days when gaming was a niche nerd hobby and it wasn't about huge production budgets
EDIT:
Thanks for giving PC gamers the table scrapping bargain bin shit, but we really don't need it. But you just know that they'll use the low sales for this PC game as further justification that PC gaming is dead. No, it's because nothing but shitty games have been coming out.

| Don't want to play foce unleashed on PC. It was not a good game on consoles and it cannot possibly be better on PC's. They would have to redesign the whole game. Thanks for giving PC gamers the table scrapping bargain bin shit, but we really don't need it. |

| I remember when this game was first announced and I thought it might be an interesting game to pick up for the PC. Then they said they wouldn't be releasing it on the PC. And now after we find out that it was a mediocre title (as seen from the ratings on gamerankings.com), they decided that the PC is good enough for it after all. Bah. I'll wait for it at $5 at gogamer.com, if I get it at all. |

This thread should be re-named PC Gamers: The Crybabies Unleashed. I actually have played through this on the 360 already, so any negativity from my end is well-founded Picked it up from the bargain bin and ended up having to soldier through on general principle. The game itself had a lot of promise but to be fair, the execution is/was terrible. They have some spiffy tech, sure, but there are countless minor and not so minor annoyances. The core gameplay was fun at times, but this didn't make up for a rather bland experience in my opinion.
Heck, without the Star Wars name and all the hype (granted, the combination of euphoria and digital molecular matter looked mighty cool in the tech demos), it probably would've gone way under the radar. |

Note to self: Never read the Blue's Forum if you want to feel excited or good about a game...any game. EOF. beep beep. Not at all, we get stoked over lots of games. We do however call bullshit when we see it. Like a console port that wasn't great to begin with coming to the PC. We're beyond caring about this game at this point. We don't like hand-me-downs. While most of us own a console this has always been and always will be - first and foremost - a PC gaming site for PC people. Most of us are pretty old school, so yeah we get crotchity about being treated like second bananas by companies we helped build.

Ack!!! I used to laugh at the Mac owners when they had to wait a few years for a game to be released by Aspyr Media. Now we are in the same category. (cries).
Never again my Mac brothers. At least you have a real computer instead of a glorified toaster that is a console. |

I don't see the point of bitter anger over the lack of a release sooner... I buy the games that release on PC and look good, politics are less important than playing cool games.
The only negative thing I have to say is that Aspyr is a crap company, and this port will probably be lacking. |

Take your poorly implemented piece of console shit and burn it somewhere, then focus on giving us an actual PC game. Like, you know, fucking TIE FIGHTER 2 or something!

I don't see any mention of price but you can buy the first game, new, for $20 at gamestop... That plus 3 new levels is worth...? Seems like a really pathetic offering overall.
That jedi temple DLC was offered at $5 recently, which was a joke by itself, $5 for an extra level in that game? You'd be lucky to get people to download it for $1. Normal price is $10, and I'm assuming the 2 packs will be the same price so $20 for 2 levels...spending the same amount gets you the whole fucking game?
New price seems to be really close to used price, which is a good thing. Used prices are about $14 on amazon.
I'm guessing they will sell this for $49.99, because buying the 2 levels plus the original game would cost a total of $40 normally and you probably want to charge extra for that exclusive part...
Really swinging for the fences there Lucasarts...

The current machine I'm posting from is my gaming machine. Vista Ultimate 64 - black edition, Phenom II cpu, 4 gigs ram, GTX 260 216 core, good mobo, great psu, 750 gig hd, dvd burner, great case.. cost me under 800 bucks when i built it 4 months ago.. and at the time, it was near top of the line. This machine runs every game at the highest settings without a hiccup...why would anyone think a gaming pc needs to cost 4grand, hell 2grand?

See, you have to make a choice. Either you can hire people with some technical knowledge, or you can hire a bunch of yes-men to stroke Lucas's ego.
You can't have both! I seem to remember a time when Lucasarts put out some pretty damn fine games. That, of course, was when Fat George still had credibility in the entertainment industry. |
