Am I the only one that wouldn't be surprised if much of the Gamespy editorial team gets the axe in the coming months? Despite the claims in the press release that both sites will remain intact because of "loyal followings" there is a lot of over-lapping articles between the two and redundancy in the writing staff after this merger takes place. It wouldn't make much sense from a business perspective to have so much bloat. I suspect IGN wanted to get their hands on FilePlanet and Gamespy's server browser, hence the merger. By next Spring I think most of Gamespy's editorial staff will have been let go, with the few survivors being absorbed into IGN.
