That happened to me... I had given them my new address and my new phone number. Then they sent the package to my old address, and they said they tried to call me, apparently at my old phone number.

Another lost sale... |

That's disappointing. I have purchased every C&C game (except Sole Survivor) for the PC since the beginning. I have been looking forward to a new RA, but now that I have heard that it will be using SecuROM, I will not purchase this game.
I have been inconvenienced by DRM problems before. No more.

More XW and TF!!! |

XW was cool! TF was awesome! XWA was pretty great!
If only we could get some more of that!! TFAlliance, following that other family... (Viraxo)
A built in mission editor, and better flexibility for fan made ships would be a nice touch.
I liked the FPS more when it wasn't all about Jedi. Being a fledgeling Jedi up against non-Jedi was kind of fun. Force powers are neat, but I like the guns!! “Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no substitute for a good blaster at your side.”
Honestly, I'd probably rather play all those old games with modern graphics and UI than play some of the newer stuff.
Hmmm... dusting off the old Thrustmaster FCS...

Gates: Vista is doing just fine. |

640K ought to be enough for anybody.
(Though apparently he denies saying it.)
What difference does it make if they make money by continuing to sell XP or sell Vista? (Support maybe?)

It's not about $$$. I make over six figures working half the year. Month on, month off.
This is what it's about:
1. I really don't like consoles.
2. When I do work, I am away from home, and that is where I do most of my gaming these days. They grouch at me enough about the weight of my laptop (17" screen) when I get on a helicopter to go to work. I can't justify dragging a console, but a laptop can be used for work, so I get to take it with me, heavy as it is.
Edit: And yes, it's kind of silly for just one game that I'd be interested in.

Didn't work... |

For some unknown reason, installing C&C3 took me an hour. Then I patched it. And the game would not run at all. Had to uninstall and reinstall (another hour, can't figure out why). Runs fine without the patch.

QuickTime and Realplayer suck.
I love QT Alternative and Real Alternative... disappointed at this turn of events.
At least K-Lite is there.

Patch |

The Fox |
|

Crusader Gunship * Health increased from 1000 to 800.
So should that be decreased? Or should the numbers be swapped?
Arc Hammer * Moving targets are no longer held in place by the Lancet’s beam weapon. If moving targets get too far away the Lancet will now break off the beam weapon attack.
Not sure what that has to do with the Arc Hammer.
* Heroes would sometimes be taken out of play and never return.
That was annoying...
TIE Interceptor * Cost decreased from 600 to 550.
I didn't know you could buy them... only ever saw them spawn from capitol ships.
I didn't see anything about characters holo images appearing and then staying there permanently. Had that happen a bit.

Re: DRM, Copy Protection = BAD |

Asking Is DRM good or bad for consumers? is like asking is "Death bad for people?"
Before DRM, "you could do what you want with it," he said. "But is that a good thing?" Gee, I don't know, I suppose not... I'm sure somehow not being able to do anything I want with it is better.
"What [DRM] is intended to do is give people choices," he said. Translation: "DRM is intended to make you pay over and over again for the same content."
"From the consumer's perspective, they just want things to work," he said. And DRM ain't it...
My personal experience with DRM suggests that it's actual purpose is not to deter piracy, but actually encourage it.

Swirling garbage |

Almost sounds as if it says:
"This swirling vortex of garbage was designated as a protected U.S. national monument in June by President George W. Bush."

I thought NT meant "Not There", since I think it was vaporware for the longest time...
As for crappy naming, well there's plenty to go around... iPod somehow sounded cool, but anything else with an "i" in front of it has been lame... as has everything with X's... "Radeon X1900 XT" comes to mind, as well as "XFX GeForce 6800 Xtreme" and "XFX GeForce 7900 GTX". Good grief. And just when I thought that was bad enough, I came across a listing for an "XFX GeForce 7600 GT XXX".

"Hell March" was awesome. A lot of the soundtrack tunes were pretty cool.
I hope that they add a skirmish mode to the Tiberian Dawn.
Updated graphics, and a better menu system would be nice.
"That was left handed!" ... ah the memories.

DVD fast forwarding... |

If you are buying a DVD and you are forced to watch ads on it, then the purchase cost should be drastically reduced IMHO...
Maybe they should have to have warnings on the box like on cigarette packages.
