Does anyone know if the voice chat works in this game? Doesn't seem to for me. Haven't heard anyone else talk ingame yet either.

ATI cards have a lot of issue with this game right now, so ATI users beware.

Not sure what the issue is. I have a Radeon 4870 and no problems at all. Maybe it just affects some cards?

Ok nin, is there something specifically that you like better about the up arrow vs the breadcrumbs? What does it do that breadcrumbs doesn't that makes you like it better?

News Comments > Brink Launch Trailer
53. Re: Brink Launch Trailer May 10, 2011, 12:17 Wowbagger_TIP

So far I'm really liking it. I've just been playing SP and challenge missions, but it's pretty good. No performance issues at all. Only one crash so far, and that's after I alt-tabbed out and left it that way for a while. No crashes while playing so far.

The bot AI definitely isn't good, but I don't think it's as horrible as some are saying either. I'm sure they'll keep working on it. I'd love to see this game get the kind of attention that TF2 gets, but I know that's not likely. Really though, the SP is just a training ground for MP anyway. Maybe some of these reviewers should learn how to play before shitting all over the game. Morons. Guess they're too used to the "press A to win" types of games.

One thing I've noticed is that it looks like some of the weapons are going to end up being totally useless because there are other weapons that are essentially the same, but with better stats. They could probably remove half the weapons and it would actually be better. I think there will be a fair bit of balancing needed over time, but that's true of pretty much every MP game.

It works better for you, I prefer the arrow.
That's cool. I just don't see how the ability to go up one folder with one click is better than the ability to go up to any folder in the current path with one click. I guess we all just have our idiosyncrasies.

I also recommend CLASSIC SHELL - it fixes one of the biggest problems of Win7 - the detail pane not showing any useful details!
What details doesn't it show? And PropheT is right about using the folder breadcrumb thing. It's way more useful than the up arrow.

I play pretty regularly and I haven't crashed the game in years, I have a ping of no more than 80 on the servers I play, and I can't recall the last time I had a memorable glitch.

You might want to get your system checked out.
Seconded. I've been playing the game since release, and I can't remember ever having a crash. There have been some odd gameplay glitches over the years, but those have been sorted out. If there's new issues, I haven't seen them.

I really want to get it for the same reason. But F activation limits.
That's why I originally didn't buy it either. I figure now if it becomes a problem for me, I'll just download a crack for it.

Good afternoon,

I'm from the Internet Commission for Internet Studies and Surveys. This report is in regards to your query: "Am I the only one who thought the Midnight Riders were lame". We've performed a broad spectrum analysis of a variety of Internet audiences across a host of sub-cultures, micro-domains, and hat-based fan groups. The conclusion, plus or minus two basis points is as follow:

Yes, you are the only one.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you in this manner. Please feel free to continue to utilize our services again in the future.

Sincerely,

ICISaS

You can't log in with Steam on multiple systems simultaneously, either. The only issue with it and GFWL is that Netflix is tied to the Live account on the 360 and needs to be a gold account to work, otherwise this would be a non-issue with GFWL as well.

Yes, but you can login on two different machines without going through some ridiculous account transfer process. Can't do that with two XBoxes.

While this does look cool, and barring any tragic revelations about it, I'm sure I'll be picking it up at launch, I still hope that Mechwarrior 5 gets back on track at some point. That's the game I'm really wanting. That, or something like Heavy Gear or Chrome Hounds.

It depends on how they deal with the "Why get the new one?" question.
Console gamers will buy it because it says "Call of Doody" on the package. Nothing more need be done. A lot of PC gamers probably will too, but not nearly as high a percentage I'll bet.

Who gives a shit? The fact that these phrases are associated with him means I'll never want to use them anyway, except for purposes of making fun of him, which I'm sure is covered by fair use.

I'm waiting for them to fix more of the remaining issues with the game. It has a lot of potential, but still needs quite a bit of work to live up to it. Things like being able to see the details of the ships that you can buy, such as how many and what types of hardpoints they have, or better abilities to get pricing information from stations within a system without having to go to them. I'd like to see combat get slowed down a bit too. There's a mod to increase shield strengths all around, but I think it needs more fine-tuning than just that. Combat just isn't terribly tactical right now. You don't really have much time to do more than just blast away at a couple components of a ship.

I have a 360, but it hardly gets touched other than for Last.fm. I think the last game I bought for it was GTA4, which I played for about a week before going back to PC games. I just don't enjoy console gaming nearly as much as PC gaming. When I can play a game like Oblivion with a keyboard/mouse and all the mods I care to use, then I'll consider the console a contender. I don't see that happening anytime soon. Consoles are becoming more PC-like with each generation, but they're like little gimpy PCs, hobbled by all the restraints that the creators heap on them.

I hope that research into better control schemes for consoles continues. Maybe someday they'll come up with something that can actually replace the keyboard/mouse for gaming. Still seems a long way off though.

Lol... crate stacking, check. Air vent crawling, check. All we need is a hacking method and we've got full Deus Ex stealth repertoire. Love how she hides the body behind a fence door. Nobody will ever find it! Owell. Guess we can't expect this one to be better than the first. We're lucky if it can get the basics to be on par. I'm still wondering if they're gonna manage to get the atmosphere and characters to be as good. I doubt anything can match my nostalgic vision of DX though.

Tempted to pick up Evochron, but not sure if the combat aspects are any good. Seems like it's in the same vein as Elite.

Coming from the "bootable floppy for cd game era",...if a dev really wanted to squeeze the most,...why not dev a game with it's own API and runtimes and make the game boot around the OS.
Probably because that would be extremely expensive compared to using a well-tested set of APIs like DX.
