Tooltips on abilities are stored as client-side strings for localization and latency reasons. Hotfixes do not (and frankly, should not) alter the client itself, and thus they do not update the string relating to the ability until the next patch rolls around.

It can be a bit annoying and confusing, but it's better development practice than rolling out an actual patch requiring downtime and a client restart every time you need to hotfix something.

Do they not put this info in release notes for the hotfix?

Is this the patch that fixes the minimap by either making it fully transparent *instead of like 90%*, or gives us the ability to change the size?
I'm actually hoping they do this, just so you can stop posting about it in every single thread where D3 is even mentioned.

For me, SEv2 seemed like it would get boring quickly after playing the demo. What's the point of a sniper game where you basically kill everything that moves in every map? There's practically no stealth involved in the game. The ballistics modeling and kill-cam stuff was pretty cool. They should try to create a good sniping game around that instead of the cheesy shooting gallery they made.

That said, I'm not buying anything else until the Steam Summer Sale starts

Your point reveals the faulty philosophy you operate under.

We're not talking about electro-chemical responses, but a free willed mind capable of understanding action and reaction. Ethics and morality.

So I think your core understanding of this is all about is grounded in materialism and trapped in the same anti-human deception the world has bought into.

People are now composing their moral view against what animals do! LOL

Do you make a habit of replying to the same post multiple times? Regardless, I doubt you could explain half of the gobbledegook that you're spewing. It's a lot of pseudo-psych gibberish. There's really no point in arguing with that kind of stuff.

As an aside for D3, game is now fully cracked with the use of a server emulator. Anyone using the piracy excuse to justify the always online requirement can now stuff it.
I wouldn't say it's been fully cracked. From what I've read, the server emulator is buggy as all hell and still pretty much unplayable. Unless there's been major improvement in the past few days. I'm just wondering if the guys doing the emulator can fix the game to be better than the real one

We were just talking about it last night, the 2 handed weapons seem to be pretty sad even with a socket. Two 1 handed weapons with sockets is so far superior that it is a waste of time to use a 2 hander. Maybe give the Barb ability to dual wield 2 handed weapons with a penalty of some sort?

Yeah, there's just a lot of flavor stuff like that missing. Remember elemental modifiers that meant something in D2? Lightning had a chance to stun things, fire did a dot and so on. You could add sockets to items through a quest or reroll a weapon. I think the biggest problem with 2Hers right now is that only a Wizard or WD can make great use of them on the higher difficulties, you pretty much need a sword/board to survive as melee. Dual wielding two handers is another obvious ability, I'm pretty sure most would prefer that to Throw Weapon or whatever. Although ironically Throw Weapon isn't half bad considering Inferno consists entirely of kiting.

Also its pretty funny that Monk has the best summon in the Ally ability. It inherits your stats/resists, buffs and actually does damage.

I think it's that sort of stuff that makes Path of Exile a lot more interesting than D3. Maybe when the expansion comes they'll add something interesting to the game.

Uh I've already cleared my first $1k and I still work. I'd say I've been successful. As a point though, that's only about 1/4 of my normal weekly wage before taxes. I'm still waiting to hear back from CRCA to see if I need to declare this on my taxes for next year though.
Is that before or after the transfer fee?

While I still think the game is a mess, I have to agree with HorrorScope about taking advantage of the morons out there. I suspect that won't last very long, but enjoy it while it does!

I want to revisit this game at some point. They did some major patchwork to introduce things like line of sight enemy reveal, sector inventory, traders restock, etc. - things which would have been awesome off the bat but were introduced some time afterwards. At the moment I'm being kept occupied with DayZ and Chaos Rising Co-op so it'll have to wait.

I tried the demo, but it seems like stealth is still not really an option in the game. Enemies seem to detect you no matter what you do. Only real way to win on the harder maps like that is to stand off and use rifles to pick off enemies as they try to close with you.

Well yeah, the demo was released before all the patching. I'd be surprised if they patched the demo half as much as the main game.

Well if they've improved the game then they should really update the demo. I'm not sure what version it was when I played it, but it sucked, and definitely didn't make me want to purchase the game. Since that's kind of the point of a demo, it's pretty stupid that they don't update it, huh?

If they ever release a good demo, maybe I'll decide to get this.

Something sounds very wrong with this story. I want to know why Atlas hadn't collected from 38 in 6 months. I don't know of any company that would let such a large bill slide that long. How could that not come to anyone's attention? Had 38 refused or even stalled they would have sent notice to the employees long before a final 10 day notice. And a 45 page moving contract? I find that highly unlikely. And Curt was entirely unaware of ANY of this??? Someone is either exaggerating or lying outright here. Several things about all of this are very rotten. I won't be surprised at all to find criminal wrongdoing here.

Not overly uncommon to have businesses behind on bills, especially for services rendered that don't need to be repeated. 6 months is a lot, but if Atlas assumed it would get paid they may not have forced it, at least for a few months, and when they got nowhere they apparently turned to the person they moved.

It all reeks of poor management, mismanagement, bad decisions, etc., but none of that is criminal wrongdoing. There's been zero sign of fraud or any other financial crime on 38s part, just a whole lot of bad decisions and broken contracts.

Could something surface? Sure. But nothing here is unusual. Companies implode daily. Employees and creditors don't get told until the day of regularly. I know people that have shown up to work and found the locks changed overnight. It's shitty and it sucks but it isn't criminal. Hell, changed locks often mean management was working as long as possible to find a way to keep it afloat (though they should have given up sooner to give employees a chance to move on.)

Seems like not paying them their wages should be criminal.

Checking old emails, the $10 off pre order was for owners of trinity or diplomacy. No offer was made to owners of sins and entrenchment. (I believe) I have no emails regarding beta access being attached to anything besides preorders of rebellion. (pre purchases I assume, big difference) Doesn't seem like there was any offers made to the folks that bought the main game ages ago.
I only have Sins and Entrenchment, and I did get an email a while back (a couple months ago iirc) with the discount offer. Seems to still be available as long as you login to the site.

If the authentication service is busy, the login checkbox will now wait at "Authenticating Credentials" until a player's login attempt can be processed. As a result, players should no longer encounter Error 37 when logging in.

And then, since the servers are still busy, you'll wait 5 minutes and then get Error 38

Hmm, where did they post this?

I read it on the discussion on reddit with Jay and some of the other designers/developers earlier this week. I would hate to misquote someone but I am almost positive they said they would have some cool affixes that no other items have to make them more legendary.
Only fixing legendary items doesn't sound like it will fix the fundamental problem of 99.9999% of loot being boring. Legendaries are so rare that changing those alone will have very little impact on the fun factor.

This was under the discussion about making legendary items cooler. I'm pretty sure there was more discussion about non-legendary items as well.
Ok, I've only heard that they were planning changes to legendary stuff. Haven't heard anything about other items.

I've never heard a 30% fee described as modest before. Guess that's just how things are in the mind of a fanboi. I won't even call the fee the part that is fucking players, it's the horrible economy (due to bots and exploits), lousy loot drops, and lack of balance testing that is doing that.

Not that I care, as even if you are in the AH you are getting free money for things you found in a virtual world - but isn't it 15%?
From what I've read, there is a 15% transaction fee, and an additional 15% fee when you transfer funds from the RMAH to your own account (paypal or whatever). So, effectively a ~30% fee.
