| Just started another play-through a couple days ago. Decided it was time to upgrade the old video card now too, so just ordered a new one so I can run with all the spiffy HD mods. Now I have this to look forward to as well. Can't wait. Insta-buy for me as long as there are no major technical issues. |

JohnBirshire wrote on Jun 6, 2012, 21:36: No mention of interface changes yet? For a game that's been in development for more than a decade I would certainly hope the interface was ironed out by now. You would think so but how hard would it have been to implement a 2nd loadout for skills and weapons (kind of exactly like how you could have 2 weapon sets equipped in Diablo 2...)
Or maybe making potions auto-pick up.
Or better yet... how about making the Gems and Crafting Pages any other colour besides white when they drop.
Or maybe an option to not even display loot below a certain level. I think it gets kind of annoying to have to dump out white and grey loot I accidentally picked up while trying to collect gems and potions.
Nothing of what I just suggested is overly complicated nor hasn't already been done in either Diablo 2 or any of its derivatives. From the AMA they did on reddit yesterday, they are planning on making potions/gems/pages a different color and also looking at adding options to filter out white/grey items. Utterly amazing that they're just now figuring this out, given that D2 and other games have already done it. While I always thought the game was going to end up being pretty shallow, even by ARPG standards, I'm still amazed at how many things they screwed up in such a long dev cycle. |

May actually make them less money as people with the game on other platforms (like me, I of course purchased the game for PC) will skip this entirely just in principle. Yeah, I seriously doubt that any significant number of people will refuse to buy it because of that. When it's out, they'll buy it. |

PC port was blah though. Still, better than playing on console. I found Conviction fun for what it was, but then I wasn't really a fan of the SC games anyway, so it was pretty much stand-alone for me. I tried one of the SC games a while back (can't remember which one now), but just couldn't make sense of the stealth mechanics really. It seemed almost random whether you would get spotted or not and was just a lot of trial-and-error stuff that got boring quickly. |

So where's this other video showing the different outcome? I couldn't find it. |

It says 33 days when I visit the page (Deadline is FRIDAY JUL 6). Where's the 3 days coming from? I think there was a glitch in the Matrix... Hah. Comes from me misreading apparently. Read it as June 6, rather than July 6. My mistake |

Sepharo wrote on Jun 2, 2012, 12:43: Had laser eye surgery on Friday morning.
Lasek in one eye and Lasik in the other because of my dry eyes. Lasik is with the flap and Lasek is the surface treatment, the same laser was used and was a very quick painless process. I'm almost 20/20 already in the Lasik eye, a few more days and I'll be there. The Lasek eye has a medical contact on and is more of a week of recovery, that eye is currently pretty blurry but still probably not as bad as it was without my glasses before. I need to put a ton of eye drops in though... 4x steroid, 3x anti-bac, 1x anti-inflam and then artifical tears throughout the day as my eyes dry.
I'm still nervous about the end results but the doctor and his staff are extremely helpful. Nice, I had Lasik on both eyes a couple of years ago. Best money I ever spent. I couldn't see the alarm clock in the morning without putting on my glasses, and now I am better than 20/20 in both eyes.
I was freaking out for a while too because I couldn't see very well afterwards, but it healed up nice. I'm sure yours will too. Pretty much same experience for me, except I had PRK instead of Lasik. Better than 20/20 now too. Of course the doc said that my vision will still degrade as I get older, but I really couldn't care less. I haven't had to wear contacts or glasses since then (about 4 years ago now), and life is so much better
Hope it works out as well for you Seph! |

Very slick presentation and all that, which you'd expect from Rockstar. Good prelim review there Aero. I loved the other games, so I'm gonna go ahead and pull the trigger now. Hopefully it'll be downloaded by the time I actually have some free time available tomorrow |

Nvidia pushes even beta updates out if a game has a popular beta out of their normal update cycle. No idea what you're talking about, as my ATI card runs everything I throw at it. Not sure what more they need to support. |

My last few cards have been ATI. Aside from one that eventually had some sort of hardware issue and wouldn't go into 3d mode anymore (happened after I had already replaced it and put it in my wife's PC), I haven't had any problems. I just try to buy good cards and I don't upgrade my drivers unless I need to, and only after I do a little checking to make sure there are no major issues being reported for the current version.
I'm planning to buy a new card soon, and I'm on the fence now about which one to get. I usually buy a mid-range card, so there are good ones from both companies right now. |

| That's some of the craziest shit I've seen in a game... ever. Sounds like it may actually have more to do than Minecraft too, which I could never get into. I actually played Terraria a lot longer. I'm sure they could sell a bajillion copies like Minecraft if they want to. |

Well, I just tried the Dragon's Dogma demo. I'm not sure about the game itself yet. Seemed a little different than the usual fare, but I forgot how much I hate playing any game that requires aim on a console. It was so annoying I just quit after dying to the Chimera thing in the first level. I'll wait for a PC version and try it then. |

In fact, they aren't going to make any effort for any PC-centric features. They've stated that the game is going to be exactly the same as the console versions. They don't really have to do much to adapt it to the PC platform. I meant as long as they don't do something stupid like not having user customizable bindings and actual graphical options. They don't need to redo the user interface or something IMO. I'm betting they do something stupid.
That said, I may have to fire up the XBox and check out the Dragon's Dogma demo. Haven't used my XBox in forever... |

You should read and think about what others have posted.
Also, when you gonna ask your bro about his porn sites? Just ask him about Diabloxxxboys.co.tw, do it over sykpe and record it for extra lol. Look I haven't been hacked, and don't take me out of context, what I said, is if it were this many hacks and accounts compromised, and it was any other company, like EA, people would be calling for lawsuits. Instead you get the usual Blizzard pole smokers.
As for Blizzard's security measures, they can't be all that good if their password algarhythem doesn't even take uppercase letters into account just as an example. I'm a Blizz fan now? Maybe I should run out and buy D3... |

theyarecomingforyou wrote on May 30, 2012, 07:05: Blizzard is responsible for the security of their own service. Yet people - like nin - twist the situation and blame the end user, despite equally high profile games like TF2 being unaffected. Securing their service is one thing. Securing your PC to prevent people from stealing your credentials is something else entirely. They could make it somewhat more secure, sure. But then people will bitch about how they have to go through all these other steps just to login to a game. There's really no winning in this situation for Blizzard. There's a very large percentage of people that can't be bothered to learn even the basics of how to keep themselves safe online. They think that because they have some a/v software on their system that they should be safe. Can't really do much for people like that.
theyarecomingforyou wrote on May 30, 2012, 07:05: Somebody logging in from a different computer from a different location should have triggered additional security measures - an obvious one being to send an email that must be accessed in order to access the account (ala Steam). Blizzard fucked this up on its own. If they've rooted your PC, you've already lost. They know all your info, including IP address, and probably have access to your email account. Not sure if it's being done yet or not, but they could even use your own PC to login and steal your account.
