kinda hard to feel sympathy for those Valve workers when virtually every other workplace in the universe wouldn't allow entertainment software of any kind..ever.

you're making the rather large assumption that everyone agrees that all of those are A list games.
But to be fair, "The A List" is rather subjective.
For example, As much as I love Bioshock, there are plenty of people out there that really don't think it's all that great. And I can see where they're coming from too. It copies System Shock 2 a little bit too much sometimes. Is it a great game, or is it just a case of people standing on the shoulders of giants?

VoodooV you would be WRONG. Bioshock was the same on both systems, and even graphically better then the 360 version if you have the hardware. Granted there is an issue of not being able to remap all the keys, but that pales in compairison to say Oblivion obvious consolitis. What rock have you been hiding under? You go to any forum and you'll be told about the many gamestopping bugs and crashes in the PC version. Sure you can argue that the console version has some of the same bugs too. But what is obvious is that the Console version is considered a higher priority than the PC version, and that the console bugs are without a doubt, less severe than the PC version. That seems to be the way things have been going for a while now.
Sure you can even argue that it's not the game's fault, but the video card drivers. But that still illustrates the point of why consoles are outselling the PC. The average user simply doesn't want to deal with always having to update their drivers.

such a clever title. Just ask the author how clever it is.
I'm sorry, but while there is always going to be PC gaming. As long as consoles offer a unified platform so that programmers only have to consider one hardware configuration instead of millions, Consoles will continue to take over. Consoles have taken the lead because it simply makes business sense to make console games more than PC games. Every game that manages to have a dual release of both console and PC. The PC version has always ended up being a crappy port with little thought put into it and many bugs. Our latest evidence of this is Bioshock.
Don't get me wrong. I will always love PC gaming more than consoles. But lets face reality. Those us who grew up with gaming in the 80s and 90s. Few developers make games like that anymore. Gaming has become more mainstream now, so niche games like sims and the hard core RPGs just don't cut it anymore. They don't make enough money. I hate it too..but it's reality. I too use to cry abomination whenever I saw an FPS game on a console. But sadly. I go where the games go. And that means that thanks to games like Bioshock and Gears of War, I'm slowly getting less and less annoyed with FPS games on the console. People adapt. It's what we do.
Your ONLY consolation prize is that you can make the arguement that PC gaming really hasn't died. It's merely shifted. It can definitely be said that consoles didn't beat PCs. Consoles became MORE LIKE PCs which is why they are becoming more and more popular.
You want to have a resurrection of PC gaming? Convince the video card makers to stop charging so much for the top of the line cards. Sorry, but we just really don't fucking need quad SLI or whatever overkill configuration they've dreamed up lately. There used to be a day when the best cards were available for 200 dollars or less. Bring that back and then maybe PC gaming will come back to what we loved back in the 80s and 90s.
Till then, I'm loving my PS2, 360, and Wii. I still game with my PC, but less and less.

don't exactly need to be a rocket scientist to realize that CE's have always been marketed towards people who aren't exactly frugal with their money.
what's that? a worthless figurine? take my money, please!

We’ll never see a game as engaging as System Shock 2 again Translation: Any game that requires more buttons than a console controller offers is obviously too complex for the masses to comprehend.
You mean I have to press "I" to look at my inventory?? ZOMG!! my brain hurtz!

sorry, but screenshots mean dick. The fact that they refer to this game a shooter first and an RPG second is enough to make me not place any idiotic faith in pre-hype.
give me a demo, or else you've got nothing.

How exactly do these screenshots ease the fear of consolitis? Consolitis is in how the game plays, not how the game looks.

I pride myself on my ability to multitask, but damn. Who can possibly be against this ban?
but on the other hand...how can they possibly enforce this short of activating the GPS in your cell and noting that the cell was moving 60mph while the txt was sent

Don't forget the fundamental rule that the more someone objects to porn or claims that they never touch it, they usually end up having bigger, more raunchier, collections of porn than anyone else.
I tend to agree with Charlie Six that we're all a bunch of hypocritical bastards. The porn industry has to get all their money from somewhere and it can't be just a relatively few people with large wallets. It has to be widespread.

Tumbler I have to disagree. One of the reasons I would purchase a PS3 is cause I have never owned a PS2 and there are so many titles for it I would purchase. Huh?! you want to buy a PS3 so you can play PS2 games???? Dude, let me help you out a bit. If you want to play PS2 games, buy a...PS2.
You'll get a hell of a lot more value out of a PS2 than you will a PS3. Might even have some money left over to buy games with too!
as for the HD-DVD drive. Sorry to both Sony and MS, I don't give a shit if you guys are giving the drives away. I'm not touching any of the formats until this pathetic "war" is over
Hell even that isn't a guaruntee. neither format adds anything dramatically important enough to me to upgrade.

so why should I buy Vista if there is yet another OS on the way?
XP has been around for a long time, why the fuck should I upgrade to Vista, only to upgrade to the next OS in a few years.

It's an extremely intelligent observation that's managed to hold up for a very long time, but it's not a law.

That's been said for countless years and it has proved wrong everytime so far.
That's not entirely true. For the longest time, the best video cards went no higher than 200 bucks. TN2, TNT2, even the earlier Voodoo add on cards. It only broke the bank if you wanted to go the full SLI route.
but it's like everyone else has said. no one needs these 600 dollar cards. you're deluding yourself if you think you do. There is a difference between building a high end gaming computer and building an expensive computer just because you've got money burning a hole in your pocket.
SLI is a waste of money, so are dedicated Physics cards. Inevitably, all that stuff is going to get rolled into a single card.

what KOTOR needs is simply to amp up the difficulty. Greatest game ever, but way too flippin easy.
I know this would turn off the lowest common denominator but I want to see some developer simulate real fencing to some degree when it comes to sword fighting games like KOTOR.
I'm tired of just mashing down the master feat buttons and blowing everyone away with my glow stick. I want some added challenge.
I know nothing about real fencing so ill admit I don't know how it should be done, but I wish they could implement a way where if you're a beginning character, you possibly know some basic attacks and blocks and whatever, but as you level up, or learn from masters, you learn better techniques. and I'm not talking about what was done in KOTOR2, where it simply gives you a modifier to your rolls or whatever. I want it to mix in a LITTLE action where you have to actually execute the maneuvers and depending on what blocks/attacks you use and how good you are at them, and how good your opponent is in the same thing will determine your success or how much damage you take/receive.
I dunno. Just wish there was a bit more depth to games involving RPG melee combat. that and KOTOR was just way too easy.
