Too little, too late. This game is dead to all but the really hardcore.
100% agree. Although DaoC has a decent system, its PvP is better than most of the competition, there's too much excess baggage in the game left from 2001/failed expansions and low server populations that holds it back. May as well wait for Warhammer. This comment was edited on Feb 6, 19:19.
I loved DaoC like it was my own son, but like any game after a while it just gets stale... population wise, the game never fully recovered after the disaster that was the Trials of Atlantis expansion. Even so, I think DaoC had the best PvP on the market and I'm hoping that Warhammer will be the game to put Mythic back on the map.
Ha-ha, I like the fact that they grilled them on the voice acting for JA3D. JA2 had the finest variety of voice talent combined with characterisation I have ever witnessed in a videogame. It was one of the distinctive elements beyond the spot on gameplay that makes JA2 a blast to play 7 years later.
I'll try to give JA3D a fair shake, but I strongly doubt I will ever hear a perfectly reproduced Québec accent in a videogame again.
Yeah, I remember this game in beta too- My memories a bit foggy but it was a blast until near the end of beta when they introduced restrictions on base capturing that made it near impossible or something to that effect, and I went from wanting to buy the game on day one of retail to not giving a damn about it. I wouldn't mind trying it again if it was free but I doubt the graphics have aged well.
Story sounds a little like Jack Bauer circa season 3 of 24. Looking forward to this, Chaos Theory was a great game. Wonder if we'll get Amon Tobin tracks again.
The worst part about that video ... is the fact that when his friend gets a fireball in the face the guy holding the cameras first reaction is to laugh
Three cheers for desensitisation by the media! (and maybe a throw in a little bit of blame to GTA to make Jack Thompson happy)
Perhaps a bit insensitive, but the first thing that popped into my head reading about girl who felt no pain was the 1990 Sam Raimi vehicle Darkman with Liam Neeson.
Wow, I'm surprised at all the negative feedback about a producer admiting their game sucks and promising to try to fix the issues, it must have really gone past a point of no return...
Why doesn't Sony/Lucas just cut their losses and put the effort into SWG2? If things are truly this bad, this seems like ploy to string people along while they try to stop the Titanic from sinking with duct tape.
Hot Pursuit 1 was truly the best of the cop chase nfses, the cop difficulty was just right, decent selection of cars, beautiful tracks... if this new one can capture half the magic of HP1 I'd be impressed. And for god's sake Jim, bring back the spike strips!
EDIT: actually my bad, best was High Stakes. got the titles mixed up
The more I think about it the more compilation makes sense:
It's doubtful its new announcements for any new titles since Blizzard is focusing their efforts on WoW and its expansions. All three of their franchises are depicted, Blizzard can't work at three new titles (unless you outsource like Starcraft: Ghost, and that's working out great so far) Putting it on battle.net seems to mean a focus on their existing battle.net system and its existing titles.
Advertising a Battle.net Warchest @ 29.99 in a fancy box with limited edition extras (orginal stetches, notepad etc) and include Warcraft III + Expansion, Starcraft + Expansion & Diablo II + Expansion (Maybe even Warcraft II and Diablo I for good measure) on DVD would be a perfect Vivendi style, low development cost stocking stuffing, dead horse beating way to make a little extra cash this holiday season while WoW reaches a saturation point with new subscriptions/ waiting for the first expansion. Possibly combine it with a revamped battle.net with promises of no more cheating (yeah right) and we have a winner.
Heck at the right price even I'd buy their repackaged tripe.
