Yeah I meant defense against those neighborhood/police watch drones microwave bursts fry electronics, but you are right, you could plot survey drones through a city at irregular intervals and paths and have them fly around and tag and report any weird movements. They wouldn't even need to really be doing much else but this, if they spot movements at a home that is registered as vacant and the owner is currently not at home and isn't reported to be home they could follow those people back to their car and follow the car and the criminals back to wherever they live tag that, and police would just need to move in when they sleep. Burglars would need to either become heavily (i mean in terms of technology) savvy to take down these drones or they would have to give up.

Heck, you could rig drones with various devices so they could disable cars.. you would never again need a human in a car chase, just a drone carrier (preferable one that's flying).

Personally, I think if that becomes the standard I would mount drone tracking and defenses (directed signal distortion with a simple targeting AI) on my roof
Ahh yeah was afraid I misunderstood your meaning. Good clarification. I figured the microwaves could go both ways.

The drones will end up with counter-counter-counter-counter-countermeasures

Just a matter of time until we have home based drone defense systems. Because all you need to take one down is a directed high energy mircrowave burst

And some short range method to properly track and aim, of course ;p
Neighborhood Watch will never be the same. And easier than ever!

DRM penalizes them, by making people reluctant to buy into their games on the profitable (by all accounts) PC platform. Forget consoles.

Ubisoft: Lack of new consoles has "penalised" us.

Isn't that penalize? Just checking...
Might be the English spelling. We're the heathens for using z's according to the forefathers of our language.

Everyone that's posted in this thread is a psycho, we're all using periods. Argh see. We're all psycho.

The population has gotten too dumb to use periods, so if you're still using them, you're an outlier. Such bullshit.

Geez I remember being taught that tongue map in grade school. Harder to dismiss that than to accept Pluto as a non-planet.

Evochron Mercenary is pretty great if you like the premise, especially for that price.

For a second I thought you were talking about that coward father in the post before yours.

Be glad the police had restraint. Otherwise it's the stuff nightmare police state conspiracy theories are made up of.

We don't have Art Bell to guide us out of that dark mineshaft of terror anymore.

The 3 things in the Stories section are all insane today. Did I wake up in the right multiverse??

The last one is especially eye popping when you look at their 2-day coverage.

I'm not so excited about this with PlanetSide 2 beta probably starting sometime in the next month or two.
Not so excited for that and other reasons, with one of them being BF4 already announced for not much more than a year from now.

Steam sale has lots of us loaded up on games, so it's not like there's a shortage. If anything, we'll be lucky to play all we want to before we die.

I'm not sure why Deep Silver is so hesitant to give a decent discount on Risen 2. The game did not receive critical acclaim upon release. The patch added dodging and the ability to block monsters, which would have greatly improved the game's critical reception.

If they drop it down to $15 during the Steam sale, I'm sure a lot of people will be willing to give it a chance.
Acclaim? I'm surprised they lived down the '3 on-disc DLC at launch, but making you wait weeks to even get a chance to buy/play it'

You get used to it. You already run a Microsoft OS (in some way) so it's not like it's infecting your computer with anything it doesn't want.

Haha wouldn't that be one messed up RPG? Fun thought.

They need to simply stop making these "Gratuitous" games and go with something else. They have a reputation for mediocrity that will be all but impossible to overcome. Wipe the slate and start over.

Isn't this only the second game with the Gratuitous moniker? I think there was only Space Battles and now this.

I believe his post to be Cliffski bait.
That's one way of using sarcasm I suppose!

Yeah, regardless of the game's overall quality, it's hard to mess up a mech setting when telling a story. They're ripe for action-drama.

featuring the theme by Trent Reznor (Academy Award-winning composer of The Social Network)
Of ALL the things they can credit Reznor for, it makes me want to cry that that's what's chosen.

I guess Downward Spiral doesn't carry the same weight for those that weren't alive and/or listening to good music in the 90s.
