Oh for fuck's sake. Not only have Mozilla lost the plot and decided that they need to increment their major version numbers every few months, but now they're actually skipping major versions in their effort to make their numbers arbitrarily bigger.

Absolutely idiotic.

Continuing the celebration, the classic PC editions of Ultima, Ultima Underworld and Ultima Underworld II have been re-mastered for current PC operating systems and are available today on GOG.com.
Can anyone elaborate on the "remastered" in that quote? For the moment I'm assuming that the author doesn't know what they're talking about, and that these are the original games being run via DOSBox, just like the majority of the older GOG titles, but if that's somehow not the case, I'd love to know about it.

Seriously. On a Core 2 Duo, DOSBox was running Terra Nova at a similar speed to what my old Pentium 90 could manage natively, and that was definitely one of the more demanding DOS games. Actually putting together a physical box for DOS gaming is considered extreme measures, these days.

Blue: Surely "Canyon" is just the environment being shown, rather than a sub-title for the game? I am assuming that like all the previous TM games (save for the Nations freeware), this one will contain a variety of environments.

This attitude was evident in the way Half Life 2, and anyone expecting anything different from Valve since then is fooling themselves.

I think that Nameless Again said it perfectly in comment #10.

I already owned all three, but DRM-free means they get some more dollars from me.

As usual, there's simply no reason not to get this.

Care.
Did you mean to write something coherent? If so, I'm afraid you failed.
Use a disposable e-mail address then.
For sure, but if you like the game and want more, can you purchase it without providing them any identifying details? I don't know the answer, but after seeing their conditions, I couldn't be bothered trying to find out.

It's free. Why not give it a shot?
How about this:
if you provide TELLTALE, Inc. with your e-mail address or personal identifying information via a registration process or post it or submit it on TELLTALE you thereby authorize TELLTALE, Inc. and its affiliates and any entities that TELLTALE, Inc. becomes involved with or merges with or becomes acquired by, the right to use your valid email address and personal identifying information for marketing programs or communications with you.

Those screenshots look really excellent, although (as usual), I am unsure how good it will look at low-level. If I can fly NOE with a good degree of verisimilitude, though, then count me interested!

This might just be an over-sight (or a concession to the requirements of the un-patched game, if the version you get needs manual patching), but their product page still claims "The game requires game's activation", which implies it still includes DRM.

Well strictly speaking, yes -- you invariably want more programmers than producers working on your game.

IIRC, "Birds of Prey" was released on PC under the strangely different name of "Wings of Prey" for reasons unknown to me.

Also, I can't think of any good reason to ever buy a flight sim for a console rather than for a PC, btw.

I can't for the life of me figure out why they are changing the name of this series. After five acclaimed games, and numerous expansion packs, it was one of the most famous names (and acronyms - HOMM) in turn-based strategy gaming history. Changing it makes no sense.

It's a little bit like announcing "Sid Meier's Cultural Advancement 6".

Steam [...] ensuring that you'll always be able to install a copy of the game even if you lose your disc
Also ensuring that I won't buy it unless the price drops to $5. Oh well.
