When I heard they were offering Titan Quest and Red Faction Armageddon to the list after I'd already bought it I was like 'bugger'. But now I find out they've added an additional game on top of those other games AND they're all available to those of us who already purchased it? I'm like 'fucking awesome'.
That's how the Humble Bundles always work. Have you never bought one before? (if not, you've missed out on an incredible amount of gaming goodness).

Weird Worlds is awesome.

It's not a lot like FTL, but both games are rogue-likes set in space, so naturally they do share some properties.

(Personally I like Weird Worlds much more than FTL.)

YMMV of course, but it's a pay-what-you-want price (for a game I happily paid the original asking price of $25 for, knowing from its predecessor that I would well and truly get my money's worth), and it's DRM-free (but also gives you Steam and Desura keys), so there's virtually no reason not to get this.

Heck, if you spent a dollar just to get to watch the battles on the main menu screen, I think you'd be happy

are we playing old games now because there's nothing better to play now or something?
Well there's only ever been one game better than Thief, and that's System Shock; and neither of the sequels is far down the list. So I guess the answer to your question is basically "yes".

Is this actually confusing for you? I mean, if your all-time favourite film got a remastered print and a theatrical release, would you ignore it and go see something new, or would you see your favourite film on the big screen looking and sounding better than ever?

Prison Architect, the breakout game
That's a weird image, Blue

I can't help but wonder if this will end up being another (final?) disaster for Introversion. After spending so long working on Subversion only to shelve it, they have surely now put all their eggs in this Prison Architect basket; and I am so utterly uninterested in the theme of the game that I really hope, for their sake, that there's actually a market for this thing.

Reads: "Has DRM!"

Not having the most retarded form of DRM merely means you're not the most retarded developer, which is hardly a glowing endorsement for your work.

They never changed that, but you can pause the action at any time if you want to check stats without wasting time, so I never found this to be a detriment in combat.

It's a Digital Eel bundle! (plus those other games)

"Weird Worlds" is excellent indeed, and I'm a big fan of the trippy arcade stylings of "Brainpipe" as well. "Datajammers" is plenty decent as a freebie extra, but definitely third in that list in my estimation.

For ~$5, this is an excellent deal (for Weird Worlds alone).

Oh, nice. I've been interested in Ninja Bee's games before, but never enough to go full price, so this is a no-brainer. I'll be interested to see how their newer titles compare to the demos I've tried of some of their older games.

So the engine built for "Infinity: The Quest for Earth" has some competition? (I suppose after all these years it was inevitable that someone else would take a stab at it.) Looks pretty nice.

pledging to backers that it will be DRM free is another feature that will make people want to back it
Not to mention increasing interest in buying it if and when it comes out.

I've no idea whether I'd want this game, but I do know that while DRM is still the rule rather than the exception, any game which advertises itself as DRM-free gets an automatic boost on my radar screen.

Here's a list of games he could have worked on but didn't
Well that's a bit of a ridiculous statement. You say it as if they were options that he turned down.

Hmm... I'm tempted to fire up Ghost Recon now

They're re-making Evil Dead? Why would anyone do that? Raimi already made it twice! If there's a film that definitely doesn't require a remake, it's Evil Dead.

I sense a nostalgia purchase in the near future! Worms 2 was my first Worms game, and it provided the most fun I had out of the series. I'm pretty sure I put more online gaming hours into that game than anything before or since (not least because the online community was, by and large, polite and friendly -- unlike most games I tried at the time (and from what I've heard, it's been downhill ever since) random strangers were rarely offensive or annoying).

Verno: You think the old release system was a nightmare for add-on developers?! I'm struggling to believe that you can actually think that the new system is an improvement.

Add-on developers had some basis for specifying compatibility before. Now that the versions mean absolutely nothing, how are they supposed to have any idea about which future versions of the browser their add-on is going to be compatible with.

It looks to me as if most the those devs are now setting arbitrary future version numbers as being compatible with their add-ons, because even though that might not turn out to be true, it's better than the add-on breaking every few weeks when Mozilla releases a new version. One of mine says it's compatible up to version 99, because the author obviously doesn't have the time to be dealing with this nonsense.

That's a retarded situation.

The "one major feature per release" policy has absolutely nothing to do with the "each release is a new major version number" policy.

They could use semantic version numbers AND do a release each time they implement something significant. They choose not to for (IMHO) utterly retarded marketing reasons.

There's no point in using quotation marks: Steam is DRM, plain and simple. And Steam is both inconvenient and intrusive (subjective, clearly, but that's how I feel about it). I'm not saying it's the worst out there (it's definitely not), but it's not something I enjoy having games dependent on, either. I buy the occasional Steam game if it's heavily discounted, but even the sales are struggling to capture my interest these days. (In comparison, I've purchased eleven games in GOG's current sale.)

"Bob?"

"Yeah?"

"I've got something for you to do today."

"What?"

"I want you to clean up something for me."

"That doesn't sound like fun."

"Actually, it should be a pretty big job."

"What would I want to do that?"

"Because I want you to. And I think it would build character."

"I've got enough character. Couldn't someone else do it?"

"I'm sending you to Earth. It's in sad shape, and I'm hoping you might straighten it up a little."

"I'd rather not."

"Yeah, enjoy your trip!"

Oh hell yes. Thank you Frozenbyte! I absolutely loved Trine, but I ignored Trine 2 because of Steam. I very much look forward to buying it from you in DRM-free form.

If only everyone who released Steam-only games would follow through like this, I wouldn't have any issues with the platform at all.

What 10-20 year old game WASN'T linear?
Non-linearity was much more affordable when audio-visual budgets weren't running to the multiple-millions of dollars. I think you'll find that the list you asked for will be a large one.
