I just think it would be wild if one day global warming was found to be a myth....
It already is. I have a geographer friend who goes absolutely spare anytime anyone talks about global warming. She says that it's all well within the bounds of perfectly natural, expected, cyclical climate change.
Or something.

Is it really going to make that much difference? She's a wild child who was in rehab at 16... That's pretty bad as it is. If you can live through that, I'm sure you can live through people seeing you shagging.

I think penny-arcade summed this up well when annoying people accuse of spawn camping, when that's exactly what you're supposed to be doing
That cartoon doesn't seem to address spawn camping at all, it addresses being accused of camping when playing defense. I thought that too Blue.

a choice wether or not to trust certain people (something that was aggrivatingly impossible in DX1) True dat.
About the only time I can think of when it really made any difference who you trusted was in the Hong Kong level, with the triads and Maggie Chow. Who you trusted only made a difference in terms of how long it took you to get round to killing Maggie Chow, but it still made a difference. About the only time it did though.

Look at Haflife. 3 small number down in the bottom, nothing else Yeah, but in Half Life you weren't considering how many weapons you could carry, what ammo type you were using, how to upgrade your skills, what items you had, which keys you had, maps, images, logs, etc etc.
If you must compare DX to anything, at least make it an RPG of some kind.

You heard about the reissue of Let It Be, minus the "wall of sound"? Should be cool...think it's out in the next week or two. I heard some of it on the radio the other day. It was weird to hear it so cut down. I kinda prefer it with the "wall of sound" as it's more driving.
But I guess there's something to be said for music with minimal post-production (a la the White Stripes) so hey... whatever people want to hear.

I agree that the human as battery idea is flawed, but there's some concept that the machines need the humans. They were created to serve them, and maybe somehow they are still tied to that, so they keep them alive for that reason.
Maybe.

Oh UT 2004 why did you have to slide into 2004??? Am I the only one who thinks it makes sense for UT 2004 to come out in 2004?
Why does everything have to come out early? It's like releasing a book called 1984 in the 40s, or a film called 2001 in the 60s...
Hang on...

Well, from what I've read, it's pretty much just an updated version of 2k3, or 2k3 as it should have been as many are saying.
It's supposed to be backwards compatible as I recall, so 2k3 mods will work with it, which suggests it builds on 2k3 rather than replacing it.

Re: Gallon challenge |

A gallon? As in 8 pints of milk?
I find it hard to believe you can even manage 4 pints in 10-15 minutes. I used to drink a pint at a time, but that was enough for one go.
It's impossible partly due to the sheer volume of liquid, and moreover because of the fact that milk is actually fairly difficult for the body to break down, and it doesn't like having that much within it.
BTW, I'm sure a lot of the people who have fallen prey to this challenge started out saying "Why is it impossible to drink a gallon of milk in an hour? I bet I could do it."
I think it's one of those things that the vast empirical knowledge suggests that it just can't be done.
*edit*
All that said, I have just found a couple of sites with details of people doing it, but they are in the minority. And I mean like <1% minority.

I really liked all 3 movies.
You think I'm closed minded, ignorant, stupid?
The original post (which I quoted) was saying the exact opposite, only the original poster just said close-minded and ignorant, he didnt' call anybody 'stupid'. Pay attention. Sorry, I'm half asleep here.
I'd argue about anything with anyone right now, and be unable to guarantee that any of it would make any sense

It's a site all about the "hilarious" practise of attempting to drink a gallon of milk within an hour, and then holding it down for an hour.
There's various medical reasons why this simply cannot be done, and as a result throwing up is inevitable.
The site focussed heavily on the throwing up part of the event. Apparently a whole load of pictures of people throwing up partially digested milk is interesting or amusing.

Guess what... I don't really care. Know why? It's because you're wrong. I'm not closed minded, ignorant or stupid.
I am, however, someone with different tastes in films and as such I may like something that you consider to be virtual garbage.
If the movie was genuinely bad, like say... Miss Congeniality, or Dude, Where's My Car? then you might have a better case in saying it was a bad film.
Anyway, I'm too tired to argue about this AGAIN.

Re: PETA ...that spells M-O-O-N |

Did PETA assume that when there was a push westward around the mid-1800's that people took a stroll down to the local organic grocer/GAP for Tofu patties and brown rice in order to eat and cloth themselves? I totally agree. It's really stupid. I'm not in favour of hunting for the sake of sport, or for the sake of cruelty to animals, but this kinda thing is fine. No one is taking undue pleasure in the killing or hurting of animals, so what's the big deal?
Somewhere I have a hat made out of rabbit fur which I bought for $20 in the Ukraine. Should ship a few PETA people out there, or Siberia or somewhere, see how their head feels without something to keep them warm.
Bottom line is fur is warm and meat is tasty and nutritious. Both of these things can be acquired from an animal (a beaver in this case) in a perfectly ethical fashion. It's ridiculous.
