I wonder if people knew about iPhones when buying galaxy phones.
I think people knew of iphones, but avoided them. ... Just a theory. Pretty much a fact. Consumers savvy enough to choose the Galaxy S III almost certainly know all about the iPhone (who doesn't?) I would wager the opposite is true however, that not all iPhone consumers know much about Android phones. Of course that's just my jaded opinion. |

Exactly. If BB would have focused on online ordering/in-store pickup they could have cleaned up. The few times I've taken advantage of the in-store pickup have been painful. Newegg is just too fast, cheap, and easy. |

Jerykk wrote on May 9, 2012, 22:40: Just as in every other Tribes games, the vehicles in T:A are overpowered. I agree completely that the vehicles, especially the shrike are way overpowered in T:A. Much more so than the previous versions IMHO. You had to be unusually good in T1 & T2 to chase down a flag runner. In T:A it happens way to often. I had many games that went on forever because both sides had multiple shrikes. Bleh! The anti air weapon is a joke, takes WAY too long to lock on and is too easy to avoid. That being said, I'm still loving the game. They managed to capture the feeling of a Tribes game for me. T2 is still my favorite (Siege game type FTW), but this is still very good. |

Tribes Ascend is one of the most perfect and fair implementations of free-to-play I've ever seen. It's right up there with League of Legends and Team Fortress 2. You cannot pay to win. Skill matters above all. Everything that matters can be purchased with experience you earn for free.
And, most importantly, you can get a ridiculous amount of variety in classes and loadouts for a measely $13. You're paying for variety, not advantage. Well said sir!
I was an avid Tribes & Tribes 2 fan (too much so, I ended up getting my keyboard thrown outside in the rain by my wife) and am absolutely LOVING this game. My only critique is that the skiing is a bit too easy. I gave em $30 more to support the developers than to unlock anything. Juggs FTW! |

Aaaah, I chose not to use the skiing exploit. Doesn`t make me a nOOb. Yes. Yes it does, for this game at least. There's no doubt that skiing is what made this game great, and it's intentionally been added into all the successors. Keep in mind that Tribes (and Tribes 2) had a very steep learning curve so we were all n00bs for a bit at least.
Loved the video of the classic Tribes1 skiing btw, brought back some fond memories. I remember a few folks who could travel faster than the spinfusor could shoot. They would actually fly into their own disk if they fired in front of themselves. Good times. |

You don't pay to get in the beta. It's common practice to get into early beta's and other perks when you pre-order a game. |

Flatline wrote on Aug 19, 2011, 19:29: I always wanted to see a Shadowrun MMO where player-created content is king. I want to see newsflash startup newspapers on the matrix, people creating corporations and designing shadowruns to rig the stock exchange and make a fortune. I want to see custom-built matrix fortress systems that players can design to protect their corporate data, and even potentially stuff like in-character player-created media.
Of course you'd have stock content too, but the idea that you could log onto Shadowland and see a list of player-initiated shadowruns on targets in the game world, or hire professional fixers/Mr Johnsons to interface with the runners for a fee would be interesting to me.
Give the tools to the players to generate content and you'll have people who want to do nothing *but* generate content.
Oh hells yeah! I've been wanting a Shadowrun MMO for years. I really like your ideas on it too Flatline. Brilliant.
By the way, did anyone else notice that EA charged an ADDITIONAL $5.00 to pre-order???
They're very sneaky about it, I didn't notice it until after I confirmed my purchase. Here's the confirmation email I received:
Star Wars: The Old Republic Standard Edition $54.99 Pre-Order $5.00 Subtotal: $59.99 Shipping: $0.00 Estimated Tax: $0.00 Your Total: $59.99 Sneaky bastages! |

Like Star Control? Oooh I'm so gonna try this now. Loved that game. And on a related note the best band ever (Psychostick) just released they're new album with a remarkably similar title. "Space Vampires vs Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D". Heh. |

That's the first positive thing I've heard about TOR. I hope you're right as I REALLY want to like this game.
Its way better then WOW ever was when it comes to missions and questing. Play it or don’t, I really don’t care either way.I know I like it and so do all the people I’ve played with in the game. I haven’t heard any negativity about the beta at all in game or around the forums. That worries me a bit though, sounds a bit too fanyboyish. Still, I hope you're right. |
