That Leia costume is pretty fly. Extra geek credits for the huge poster of the periodic table on the wall in the background. |

| id software has always had amazingly talented programmers. What they've really needed is writers and storyboard guys. Would love it if they've added more depth to their tried and trusted gameplay mechanic in this one. |

So nobody has any thoughts at all on Burress signing with the Jets? Loved watching him play when he was with the G-Men, especially in that epic SB win.
NY football this season could get pretty fun. |

Dorklyst - Floating Islands |

The Dorklyst wrote: Unlike most of the games not included, the Final Fantasy series is actually OVERqualified. From the floating continent you start on in Final Fantasy III, to the Ronka Ruins in Final Fantasy V, to the other floating continent you encounter in FF6, and all the way to Sky City Bhujerba in FF12, the series is not only familiar with this trope, but largely responsible for it becoming a trope in the first place. LMAO - was just about to complain they didn't mention any of the floating islands from all the Final Fantasy games, then read this.
FFXI had megabosses that could only be reached by travelling to islands right at the end of a floating archipelago. We used to take alliances of 18 people out to fight them late on a Saturday night. Such good times. |

I've tried PS1 and N64 on my tablet but when you have that many buttons and 3D worlds, the touchscreen becomes quite the impediment. I actually tried FFIX and thought it was fine, but I tend to play a lot of RPGs. The graphics were actually better than in the original version. Agree that an action title probably wouldn't be suitable though. |

Also, I saw the new Android Market launch. I have a Honeycomb tablet and OMG it's good. Books, movies, work apps, you name it.

You can't just throw hardware out there with no fucking software support. I think they'll come along eventually but right now it's just Zelda that grabs my attention from the current releases. It looks awesome.
Shame they're not porting FFVII/VIII/IX to 3DS like they did with IV/V/VI on the GBA - would sell bucketloads of copies.

3DS drops to $169.99 in August, early adopters given free games. Pretty wild. Shame its not because a new model that has a decent battery life and hinges that don't suck is coming out. Agreed. I love the idea of this console but I never buy Nintendo stuff until they (a) drop the price and (b) release a version with all the bugs ironed out (cf. DS Lite, GBA micro). Plus by that time there are a ton of great games available.
I'm going to do the same again this time, but there's also a new problem standing between me and 3DS fun. My daughters are now old enough to enjoy Pokemon, Dragon Quest and Zelda, so I can only play after they've gone to bed.

HorrorScope wrote on Jul 27, 2011, 23:37: I quit ATT just this week over this. They sent me the letter. I went to the site, the report didn't work telling me what I was using, surprise. FAQ said something like 300,000 photos, 150,000 mp3's and at the bottom it stated exactly 20 SD movies or 10 HD movies, I stream Netflix.
Found another carrier 3 times faster downloads, 4 times faster upload, $20 cheaper and now I don't need my home phone anymore and lets face it no more hidden cram charges on your bill. This. ATT and Verizon are both terrible, the bills are padded with all sorts of cram charges and customer service is non-existent.
We had Verizon phone and quit it, then had Verizon cellphone service and quit that too. In both cases, the alternatives we found are cheaper and the service is better, and the monthly bills are interpretable by normal humans as not being full of blatant profiteering. |

TES Oblivion and Morrowind were both great (except for the cliff racers in the latter, heh). Fallout 3 - also great. What the mod community has done with some of those titles - also pretty great. I'm fully expecting Skyrim to be equally great.
These guys make awesome games for the PC and do so in a way that nobody else dares even attempt. Give them the credit they deserve. |

These look OK, but there are probably better MMOs out there that use the F2P model with micro-transactions.
Most notably LOTRO, which has tons of atmosphere and backstory, a giant campaign and very large playerbase. |

Hmm, Top Gun: Hard Lock. Is that the Stiff Joystick version, or the Throbbing Cockpit Deluxe mode?
The PR department were playing the Duke demo when they were coming up with the title for this one.

There's also a version of Q3A now for Android, can play it on your phone or tablet.
FPS not my kind of thing anymore, but the idea of lying in bed playing Quake 3 FFA on a tablet over wireless sounds kind of mellow. |

I guess I can now play Angry Birds with colored lighting, curved surfaces and reflective water. Yay? |
