The server doesnt need to send information to the client about players who are not visible to the client. Therefore the bandwidth needed is proportional to the number of players on the screen at once. So in this circumstance alone they are saying that they would have less game status updates and hand over the inbetween times to AI.
Sounds good to me especially if its done only when needed and is done for things like bullets and falling trees first before player updates.
It really needs to be added to directX so everyone can access it through function calls rather then rewriting it for ever game.

News about an upcoming trailer is not news. A trailer release would be sorta news.

Clans are not over becuase its just a name for teams. And I hardly think team play is over.
You sound like the cry baby newb that we wail on in every game we play. It is true that casual gamers might not like getting spwan killed 86 differant ways. But hey thats how we will be gaining XP.

| If its just a texture for water and a light alpha for one fan then big deal. Patch it and forget it. I promise you if I go through all of ID softwares art for their games I could find something questionable also... |

Valve is a great gaming company. The made half-life a great game out of the blue. Then they took most of the money and poured it back into HL2. They supported the mod community all the time and pioneered online distribution. CS is still free and allways will be.
Valve is an example of what gaming companies should be. Creston is an example of an internet know it all.
