If you missed Brothers 2 weeks ago on the Steam sale, go straight to check out. Do not pass Go. Do not collect 200 Imperial credits. And for the Emperor's sake, don't read any reviews. Just buy and play.

Well, you should read this:
"Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons requires a controller to play"

Which means I will never buy it. But to each their own.

Do you know why it requires a controller? I am not being a smart ass, legit question. The game play mechanic is designed around operating two characters simultaneously with two joysticks/pads. It isn't that they were too lazy to code in some PC-centric controls. I can't really think of a practical and comfortable way to play the game without a controller.

I simply quoted the huge bold print from the Steam page of this game.

Developed for last-gen consoles. Ripley's daughter? No. No this isn't the game Alien fans have been waiting for.

In Aliens, some suits tell her that her daughter died at the age of 60 something, if I remember correctly. So this game must take place in the decades between Alien and Aliens. That sounds interesting.
Last gen consoles... Well, if they add good keyboard/mouse controls, I'm interested in a pc version. I LOVE the first Alien movies, the first being a sci fi horror movie and the second being a sci fi action movie. That said, I should watch Aliens today.

Come on 40 million! I hope they have something big planned for 42 million! (squadron 42 and all)

A bigger hangar you can walk in for the end of this year, I guess. The dogfight module for 2015/16, but it could be delayed a bit.

This is just my opinion, but plugging a controller into my pc turns my pc into a console. That's what I personally despise: the controller/gamepad. And now even Steam is luring pc gamers into controller usage. No. Keyboard and mouse or bust. Again: this is just my opinion.

Not really too dumb, just not willing to hire specialists in the field I think. If they aren't willing to hire the proper people for the right jobs (like security, or UI design), then they need to contract the stuff out.

I guess they had a security workgroup but nobody at Valve/Steam moved their workdesk to it because it seemed to be no fun. Just like single player games in general don't seem to be fun anymore for the Valve people.

They might sell some "early access security program", though.

Steam store down AGAIN!

wow....

Yep. Either Steam is too dumb to stop the script kiddies (whose parents should be sued to hell and back), or this is a bigger thing than we all thought.

63. Re: Steam, Origin DDoSed? Jan 4, 2014, 04:10 El Pit

So, Steam told me yesterday that I had 7 new items in my inventory. But I couldn't access my inventory. Today, the DDoS attack is over, so my intentory is back online, and guess what? 3 items were snowballs, that vanished the very moment I accessed my inventory. Which makes me want to beat some sense into one of the script kids like their parents should do.

PopCap is mostly just a shell now. Almost all the creative force behind it left or was laid off soon after EA bought them. I feel sorry for the people left behind working for a zombie brand.

Zombie brand? Does this indicate EA is the plant in this game?

If there's any ddosing going on its from many thousands of legit customers trying to craft before things disappear. Good ole steam and still not having enough front end capacity or load balancing.
