News Comments > More Chris Roberts Game Teasing
27. Re: More Chris Roberts Game Teasing Sep 11, 2012, 07:48 El Pit

I’m here to tell you that I have been working on something for just under a year, something that embraces everything that my past games stood for but takes it to the next level.

As long as that level is neither casual gaming nor mobile phone compatibility, I am interested.

This would be AWESOME!

They've pretty much always (apart from a few products) been the less stable, worse performing but crucially CHEAPER version of intel/nvidia.

Worse performing? At the same or even lower price, e.g. an AMD 7950 outperforms the nVidia 660 GTI. And that is just one of many examples. It's just an urban legend that nVidia offers more fps at the same price.

But AMD/ATI often had driver problems. Only run into them once, though. My 6870 is still good enough to run most games at max or at least very good gfx quality.

nVidia has the better marketing though, and them limiting the use of CUDA/PhysX to their hardware and making enough developers to use PhysX was a great idea. AMD could run PhysX just as well, but they won't get a license to do so.

Except for very few exceptions (e.g. Guild Wars 1/2), I play single-player games only. Therefore, my dear EA, no single-player, no sale. It's up to you. Oh, and if you actually wanted to say "we'll force online components into our games to justify always-on drm" , then it's no sale, too.

Wow, the next third of the game - so quickly? The idea to sell the game in thirds really paid off. The development cycle has been accelerated to lightning speed. Oh, wait - when did they release the first third of the game?

One of their initial drawings had a game pad where you could swap out various pieces to your liking (specifically a trackball attachment, I'm assuming for aiming). I'd be very curious how that turns out.

Not familiar with the site, but here are the images.

Thx, nin. I would rather have my kb/m instead of this game controller. I don't like holding a controller in my hands, I rather have something lying on a desk in front of me, e.g. the old trackballs that could be placed on a table. But I know I'm in a minority.

Dear Valve, some of us HATE gamepads. Keyboard and mouse are just fine with me. Nevertheless, I am interested in your ideas, as long as they're OPTIONAL and kb/m is still supported. Kthxbye, a loyal customer.

On screen button labels use xbox 360 controller labels (Press a button) even if you don't have an xbox 360 controller plugged in.
Internal rendering resolution is 720P.
Games for Windows Live shit.

This makes this as much a pc edition as the new Black Isle is really Black Isle.

Baldur's Gate Online?
Icewind Dale Online?
Or the crossover? Planescape: Baldur's Dale? Torment: Icewind Gate?
Whatever it is, it will be a kickstarter with always-on DRM and a RMAH. Interplay proved that they know how to WIN!

RIGHT! Guild Wars 2 is a single player game that can be played online only. You got it!
