Am I the only one who can't skip this video clip in the beginning? I hate that shit. Game is great and that is a minor issue at best but it's still a big fuck you every time I start the game.

The cinematic hides the loading screen. As doktor_tchock said, you can turn it off in the settings, but then you just see an empty screen while it loads. On the plus side, you don't have to skip it since it'll start the game when it's done loading.

Steam is kinda slow with indie games releases. This piece was available on GamersGate and Impulse several months ago.

The developer of Eschalon said something similar. He basically ended up just having the players start posting on Steam's suggestion board asking that it be added. Took a while though. I'm wondering what Steam does differently that takes the extra time (lack of resources devoted to getting indie games up perhaps?).

There's a demo on Steam if anyone wants to try it. I'll be giving it a shot later tonight. Hopefully the controls aren't ass.

Like so many other games, I'll get it... when it goes on sale for $20 or less. Here's looking forward to the Christmas Steam sale.

Looked great, except for the chick. She looked like crap. Hard to tell for sure though since it wasn't exactly a high-quality video.

Umm.. what's he doing in that? It looks like some sort of poison. I shouldn't have watched that. Now I want to play it again.

In-N-Out is crap. I tried it for the first time last weekend and wasn't impressed. Five Guys fries everything in peanut oil, so no going there for me (allergies).

I am unsure what the target audience is for this game. It's too basic to appeal to the normal MMORPG fan I'm thinking. I don't see too many parents of young kids shelling out a monthly fee for the game.

This. My kid would love this game, and I've thought about playing it with him while it's in beta, and I don't have to pay for it. I don't really want to pay for a subscription though. If they were selling this as a $20 game with no subscription (maybe an item mall or something), I'd buy this.

The game was actually fun for a while.

"They" as in the people giving this high reviews; I don't understand where they're coming from. I applaud this guys's effort. It's way more than I could do. And I stuck up for this game before trying it saying it looked artsy and what not. But no, it's not playable with these graphics. Saying they're bad graphics isn't accurate. You can't see shit. It's like playing with someone covering your eyes.

Examples 1:
Mobs (or turrets) will start firing at you. You see the flash of light from their weapon. You can't see the mob though. You can't see the mob until you get right on top of it because it blends in to everything.

Example 2:
This game lets you deform the terrain. That's cool. Except the world is FULL of holes. And guess what, YOU CAN'T SEE THEM. Thank god they let you respawn. My adventures always came to an end by falling in to a hole.

It's just crap. Minecraft has better graphics, and that's saying a lot. If the guy isn't an artist, fine, but it seems like he's trying to hide his inability to draw a tree by blurring everything. And you can't play for the gameplay and ignore the graphics because, again, you can't see anything.

Great concept though the graphics were awful imo.

Understatement of the year. The graphics are a horrible mess. At least this will get some players in the game. There were zero when I signed up a couple of months ago. I honestly don't know why this game gets so much good press. It's like they didn't try it.

Valve's last big surprise was full of suck. So one of my predictions: We really are doing a Steam client for Linux!
