Rumor is it's only 10 hours, so not really worth the full price to me. I think it's a Christmas sale purchase.

I had dirty drawings in all my school books growing up. I probably drew a few of them myself.

I checked the FAQ for TOR and indeed when you pay the $5 you are paying a fee so that a copy will be available to you when you go to purchase the game

I hate it when they run out of 1s and 0s and have to make more. Good thing we have that $5 charge.

Fuck EA.

Did they ever fix the fucked up keyboard controls in the demo? I know it was fixed in the full game, but I'm not willing to drop the money on it yet. And the demo was ass due to the controls.

Go to town, find healer, ask him to cure you for 100g. That's about the extent of my knowledge. I can't find a keyboard command list, but I haven't looked very closely at the manual (which appears to just be the history).

UI design has come a long ways.

I haven't bought a sound card since Doom 3 came out. I think I've used on-board for the last two or three upgrades I've done. I don't see that changing any time soon.

It sounds like they've made it too difficult if they're having to drop so many hints.

How's the player-made maps for Portal 2? I haven't played any of them, and quit the game after finishing single player and co-op. Figure I'll return for the DLC and then check out any player-made maps at that time.

After Conan, I wonder if they built some item shop stuff in to the code so on Day X, they can just flip a switch.

The faces in the press leak looked like they had been snorting some sort of black cocaine. Did they fix that? I started to get distracted by it. 2 more hours until I'm off work to play.

14. Re: From Dust DRM Dust Up - Refunds Offered? Aug 18, 2011, 23:10 Frijoles

It is a poor port, but I'm enjoying it at least. I only paid $11 and figure I'll get about 4 hours out of it. Just make sure to turn off the mouse scroll thing. That's apparently fucking things up pretty bad (I turned mine off before even trying the game).

It's basically a tech demo.

wtf_man wrote on Aug 18, 2011, 15:31:
Not quite.

Both From Dust and Driver: San Francisco require a internet connection EVERY time you launch the game. (So the DRM still sucks)... but if you lose your internet connection after you launched... you can still play (until you exit... then you need an internet connection again to launch again).

As posted up a few comments, this was changed in From Dust. It now requires an always-on connection. In fact, they're giving refunds last I saw.

Edit: I was corrected below. Not always-on, just on launch. And after the game, apparently, to sync the save file.

Bastion is fucking awesome. It made me a man. I wish I could pay the narrator to follow me around in real life and comment on everything I'm doing.

"He went to build a webpage, but used notepad like the programmers of old."
"His lunch went down smooth, like varnish on a new floor."

God that'd be awesome. Anyway, very fun game.

News Comments > Driver: San Francisco DRM Relaxed
20. Re: Driver: San Francisco DRM Relaxed Aug 18, 2011, 13:35 Frijoles

Not only is From Dust always-on DRM, but it's glitchy (as expected). Took me about 15 minutes over multiple attempts to sync my savegames after playing the game. Settlers had the same issue. If it fails to sync, the next time you play, it just sits there until it's successful. So yeah, fuck you again Ubi. At least it was only $11.

As for the game, turn off the mouse scroll thing. Helps a whole hell of a lot. Or just buy Bastion instead.
