Cabezone wrote on Sep 2, 2010, 16:23: I am unsure what the target audience is for this game. It's too basic to appeal to the normal MMORPG fan I'm thinking. I don't see too many parents of young kids shelling out a monthly fee for the game. This. My kid would love this game, and I've thought about playing it with him while it's in beta, and I don't have to pay for it. I don't really want to pay for a subscription though. If they were selling this as a $20 game with no subscription (maybe an item mall or something), I'd buy this.
The game was actually fun for a while. |

"They" as in the people giving this high reviews; I don't understand where they're coming from. I applaud this guys's effort. It's way more than I could do. And I stuck up for this game before trying it saying it looked artsy and what not. But no, it's not playable with these graphics. Saying they're bad graphics isn't accurate. You can't see shit. It's like playing with someone covering your eyes.
Examples 1: Mobs (or turrets) will start firing at you. You see the flash of light from their weapon. You can't see the mob though. You can't see the mob until you get right on top of it because it blends in to everything.
Example 2: This game lets you deform the terrain. That's cool. Except the world is FULL of holes. And guess what, YOU CAN'T SEE THEM. Thank god they let you respawn. My adventures always came to an end by falling in to a hole.
It's just crap. Minecraft has better graphics, and that's saying a lot. If the guy isn't an artist, fine, but it seems like he's trying to hide his inability to draw a tree by blurring everything. And you can't play for the gameplay and ignore the graphics because, again, you can't see anything. |

At least this will get some players in the game. There were zero when I signed up a couple of months ago. I honestly don't know why this game gets so much good press. It's like they didn't try it. |

Is this the same old web game where you join and have fun for like a day, and then get wiped out by someone who has fifty other friends playing and just want to destroy newbs coming out of protection? I hate web RTS games. So much potential, but almost entirely PvP based with no counters for new people.
Dunno if this one is the same way. I'll have to check this week some time. |

Game crashes and stutters all the time, and yet I keep loading it back up to punish myself more. I'm doing sandbox though. The campaign looked boring (played until first crash, which was about 30 minutes in). |

Jonny wrote on Aug 26, 2010, 15:48: I get going there for the atmosphere and meeting the Blizzard lot if you're a WoW fan, but what are you shelling out $40 for with the live stream? A lot of people playing WoW and Starcraft 2 in a convention centre? They announce their new games at BlizzCon, so a live stream is good for watching that. Sure, all the videos are linked up later, but it's cool to watch it live. They also have the developer tracks. Behind the scenes stuff is fun to watch. I paid $40 last year for it and will do the same again this year. It was well worth it since I can't go to BlizzCon. |

| I finally started playing this game again. I may actually finish it this time (just got the Urn). So far I've come across quests asking me to buy some content. I noticed there's several DLCs, so I'm wondering what DLC some of you would suggest. |

Can someone please explain the whole hat thing to me? TF2 has changed so much from launch that I don't recognize it anymore and haven't been following it. Are they achievements or something?
I tried playing over the weekend for the first time in years. I got hit with a can and scared by a ghost. WTF? And then the map started playing "Wicked Game" and I couldn't figure out how to turn it off. I left crying and holding my blankey for comfort. |

| Release version is just as buggy as the last beta, sadly. They are fixing the crashes, but it's annoying to hit them (avoid alt-tab like the plague). However, I'm still enjoying the game. It does need a lot of polish though. |

| The game runs off of a shitload of XML files. So adding units, kingdoms, spells, etc is really easy. They say the campaign was created using the tools they are releasing. As for a whole new game with mod tools? Dunno for sure. The modding stuff wasn't available until recently. |

That would make you FOR net neutrality. That is, you don't want it to change. You don't want corporations telling you what packets are important. Can't do that without the government telling them not to touch it. Perhaps it's the other stuff they'll introduce at the same time that you fear. |
