News Comments > Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Demo
12. Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Demo Jan 17, 2012, 21:22 Frijoles

Wow, they have key rebinding but not for movement. WASD is hard-coded it appears (at least not in the controls area of the game). So they thought about key rebinding and then decided to fuck everyone over who doesn't use WASD. *slow clap*

Hopefully there is a key binding file and their UI programmer is just an idiot. I'm afraid I don't have high hopes though.

Edit: Posts on their forum say movement bindings are in the full game, not in the demo. Weird.

You can press escape on the login screen and it will ask if you want to opt-out. No mention of that anywhere though. My EA account didn't work.

4. Re: World of Warcraft PTR Patch Notes Jan 13, 2012, 14:59 Frijoles

I think most of my friends still playing are just on cruise control now (more so with the yearly thing). They don't really want to login since they're bored, but there's nothing else to play. That and they have a huge amount of time invested in their characters, so they don't want to quit.

Bring on WoW 2.0 and a character wipe.

At least they're listening. Witcher 2 was one of the few games I actually played from start to finish. Can't wait for #3 or whatever they work on next.

Surprised it's still in beta. I've been playing it off and on for the past two years (more off than on). Fun for a few hours.

Boggles my mind that an MMO can have a queue in place and not have a way to reconnect at the same place is the queue.

3. Re: On SWOTR Queues Dec 19, 2011, 10:23 Frijoles

30 minute queue last night. I think I saw two that said 1:15 hours. Yuck. Reminds me of having to login to WoW right after work so it would be ready by the time I could play. On the plus side, once logged in things are stable.

Anyone know if you jump the queue if you get disconnected?

It has not moved back to WotLK. Its easier than ever before. You get high level equipment even if you fart and most bugs and balance issues from 4.0 still exist, while new ones have been added again.

I'm confused. Are you saying Wrath was hard and high level equipment didn't come from farts? Perhaps we were playing different games.

If they start moving back to where they were at either TBC or Wrath, they'd draw them back.

4.3 has moved back towards Wrath. The 5-man instances remind me a lot of ICC. They're fun to run. They will, of course, fuck this all up with 5.0 and their talent changes.

Also, most of my guild uses RealID. I think it sucks, but meh. They message each other when they want to raid and everyone logs in. I guess that's the point.

11. Re: FFUUUUU BLIZ Dec 16, 2011, 12:48 Frijoles

This is aimed at people who don't want to use RealID... like me. I have friends in both Starcraft and WoW (and soon Diablo). They're in my guild. I know them well enough to chat with them online. I don't know them well enough to give them my email address. Using a BattleTag, I can give them my name+4 digit code (why bother remembering it, it's listed for you in the game) and add them as a friend to all my accounts.

I don't see the issue, and I'm glad to have it over RealID.

Didn't they say they had 10 million in the investor conference call thing a couple of months ago? Seems like lying in that would be a very bad thing to do.

Also, 4.3 instances are awesome. Cata still sucks, but at least they've started to fix some of the issues.

I'd watch if they changed the format to something like the Oscars. Roll out the red carpet for devs. Best engine. Best voice actors. Less hype and flashing lights.

I think I joined it about a year ago and played for a month. It was buggy and left a bad first impression. Doubt I'd play it even if it were free.

I used AVG until it started throwing popups all over my machine. I've switched to Microsoft's AV now. Anything better (and free) out there?
