Can any non-pirates comment on the actual game and whether it's any good?

Go get the demo. Unless you want to know if the game after the demo is good. I enjoyed it (the demo). There's probably some video reviews as well.

6 Things Bethesda Must Fix In The Elder Scrolls VI.

They don't have to fix shit. 7 million shipped units proves that. Their UI is the worst interface I've used in recent memory, but I'll still buy their next game so long as mods can fix it.

Add another no-sale here. Not so much from the DRM on this, but because Ubi's overall DRM on other titles pisses me off. I'm not giving them any money. Which sucks because I enjoyed the demo. I guess I'll suffer only playing Skyrim.

There was a post on Reddit (think EFF reposted it) showing congress critters that were likely infringing various bits of news work. I look forward to them being reported under SOPA and felony charges filed.

I mean, they aren't going to go back to the old system, because that would be admitting failure.

They put a toggle in the game to switch between laggy porn-browsing captain's quarter and the ship spinning interface. I don't play anymore, but a few people I talk to all switched back to ship spinning. And who can blame them? Ship spinning is awesome!

Obviously CCP can query how many people are actually using CQ, so I guess enough people are using it to warrant this.

Surprised they put more effort in to the captain's quarters. I've heard nothing good about them.

And if you're not one of those millions, maybe the addition of PC Capcom titles - namely Super SFIV Arcade Edition and Dead Rising 2 Off the Record - will entice you to check it out."

Nope.

I dunno, doesn't look too bad to me (aside from no ground cover). No worse than TOR anyway. I've heard you pretty much have to bot/macro to get anywhere in the game though since it's a ganker's paradise.

Since he received this email, James has not been able to access any of his Origin games online.

If true, pirate away. He already bought the games.

Yes please use that thread while you try to fix your PC's to get the game to run properly.

Run properly as in not like a console? I believe the lowest setting right now is console setting, so tweaks are done to improve that.

Using hotkeys in Skyrim:

"Asign items to your favourites with the F key, click Q then hit the number buttons on the highlighted weapons. Now you can use that to switch fast."

One thing I REALLY love about Skyrim is the snow effects. My god they're beautiful. I walked up a mountain and almost got lost when the snow got bad. Talk about immersion. I look forward to playing again tonight with the tweaks being posted around the forums (like increasing FOV). This is going to be one of those 100+ hour games.

Found this gem on Reddit:

Saw alot of people asking how to assign weapons to numbers. Asign them to your favourites with the F key, click Q then hit the number buttons on the highlighted weapons. Now you can use that to switch fast.

WAY TO FUCKING HIDE THAT, BETH. Not that I expect much else from them in the area of UIs. I think we're just one step away from having them ship the game with a custom mouse that's dripping shit from the sides.

Echoing what others said, the controls are horrible. Three hours to get used to the UI? WTF? That's not a good thing. And do the <L> and <R> icons on the weapons when you equip them seem backwards? I left click a weapon and it puts an <R> next to it. I right click a weapon and it puts <L> next to it. Confuses me to no end.

Favorites window is shit too. Give me an Oblivion DLC for $5 and I'll take that. The UI in Oblivion wasn't exactly great, but at least it was usable. I'm loving the game, I just wish I didn't have to fight with the controls.

TotalBiscuit's mail box from a day or two ago had this game on in the background. Really looked good. I think the trick to getting in on these betas is to become a (popular) reviewer.

I've heard of Operation Flashpoint, and Arma, but Bohemian Interactive is not a name I had heard until all the DRM talk this week. Been a PC gamer since the TI 99/4a, I just don't get all groupie acting about companies.

Same here. I've heard of the games, not the developer though. Apparently they're big in to the DRM scene though.

What would make the game feel more alive to me would be bumping into other adventurers on the road.

I'd like to see something from Demon/Dark Souls. Instead of running in to NPC adventurers, have real adventurers run by. Maybe have it only happen in certain areas of the game (on the roads or in towns).
