Looks rather bland and soulless compared to the excellent series of Lego games from TT Games.

How disappointing. The same studio released the excellent Deus Ex: Human Revolution 2 years ago, but a quick glance at the credits seems to indicate that the same leads did not work on Thief. What a shame.

On the positive side, that's probably because the DX:HR team is actively working on a sequel.

That's a pretty cool story. It must've been crushing to fail to get picked up by a publisher and then fail to get funded on Kickstarter. Good for them.

As someone who is a big fan of World of Xeen, the pre-release version of the game was a huge disappointment. As a result, I didn't spend more than a couple of hours with the game, but the first few hours were enough to turn me off.

Whoa, less than HALF of players spent more than 2 hours in the game. That sucks. I had fun with it, but I'm sure I spent less than 10 hours playing. I think I would've preferred a slower pace, but I realize that the franticity is key to the experience they wanted to create.

I've become very skeptical of MMOs in general, because I always end up disappointed. WoW is still the king, despite everything that has come since. With TES, though, I've gone from "meh" to "cautiously optimistic" (well, less-so after reading the comments here). I want in that beta.

More reminders of how fucking old I am. I remember downloading pre-release screenshots of Doom from a BBS. Good times.

Ooof, I was thinking that, as a vanilla backer, I would have access to the beta. It sounds like you have to pony up an extra $20 for the privilege, though.

I was really, super excited about GW2. I really pegged my hopes on it being the next evolution of MMOs. It's fine, but it completely failed to live up to my expectations. It definitely has some great innovations, but I still find myself going back to WoW rather than GW2.

Kind of sorrowful news. On the other hand, it's been a long time since id brought me any joy.

Hard to believe that this is the same company that created Baldur's Gate. Or KOTOR.
That makes me sad, but I don't disagree.

I signed up for the beta long ago, and have been in it for several weeks now. Super fun.

[EDIT] Upon seeing the video, this isn't an announcement for Hearthstone, but rather for something called Heroes of the Storm, which is a completely separate product.

I am a sucker for Valve/Crystal Dynamics-style activatable node-based commentary modes in games. If that's how this works, I am so going to replay this. These guys rock.
There's not a visual node you can activate, but you'll get an interface prompt when you're standing on a commentary hotspot. I just wish there was a way to stop it once triggered, as I unintentionally re-trigger several-minutes-long clips on a regular basis.

(Edited because I incorrectly stated that the commentary was triggered automatically.)

This is a game that I've always really wanted to like, but alas... even after many attempts with the various iterations over the past 10 years, it wasn't meant to be. Still, I'm glad they've found a solid and loyal fan-base.

The Half-Life 2 episode commentaries got me hooked, and I'm really bummed that I haven't seen commentary in a game since. It took 2 years, but I'm glad they added commentary to DX:HR.

TotalBiscuit's job is his YouTube videos, I think it's fair to describe it as monetized and I don't think TB disputes that. He's giving the money from the original DOGI video and his response video to the EFF.
Sure, but that's his right. Do they think that reviewers are doing volunteer work? People can choose to review whatever they want, with or without the publisher's cooperation or blessing, and they're entitled to make money off that work without harassment or interference.
