I, for one, strongly disagree with the content of this article. How something so hideous, so offensive, so puerile could slip by Blue's self-censorious good judgement is beyond my ability to understand. I will think twice before visiting this website again.

I'm in the same boat. I wish there was some way to track down what important items I've sold - but if I could, it wouldn't be Morrowind.

You shouldn't need to have an uber-system to run a game based on tech that's three years old, though. I mean, Jedi Outcast ran smooth as silk, and looked great, but SOF2 runs considerably slower, even at lower resolutions and with detail settings knocked down. That makes no sense to me.... I wouldn't mind a performance hit if the game was flat-out beautiful, but graphically it's unimpressive, in my opinion. It's fun to play, but still.
It's also fun to compare the tanker levels of MGS2 and SOF2 in terms of graphical effects and framerate.

I wanted to post my euthanasia, but unfortunately it turned out to be of dubious legality.
I wish I could comment on the game, but the E3 trailer was 1:48 seconds of black-screened audio for me.

In fairness, cel-shaded games rarely look good in screenshots. Download a video of it; it doesn't look too bad once you see it in motion. It's definitely something that would seem to appeal more to kids, though.
I mean, at this point, I think that Dragon's Lair 3D looks horrible, but if it looks nice in motion, then I guess it doesn't matter what impressions the screens give.

"Yup, it's the first game which generates random 3D-maps!"
I think SOF2 had this first, in a different sense.
And am I crazy, but did they give the game a rating at the end of the thing? That seems odd for a preview.

Re: FPS Generations and SP |

Wait, Unreal was "next gen sp"? I remember a game with basically no story and very little replay value. There was a neat scripted sequence in the beginning, where you see the door raise a bit and hear people screaming, but then they abandoned any pretense of storytelling and had you walking through pretty landscapes for a couple of hours.
Deus Ex would be closer to my idea of the next generation of single-player games, at least in the FPS realm, but we won't get there until our computers can hold much, much bigger worlds in them, and AI becomes adaptable enough to respond to unanticipated player actions with appropriate responses. In other words, we need our computers to think; there's only so much that you can do with scripted sequences. Granted, that "only so much" is actually quite a bit, but real AI will open the door to gameplay that's unimaginable at this point.
Like it or not, we're still in the dark ages of gaming...

I think unreleased game A that I haven't played is much, much better than unreleased game B that I also haven't played.

or people who like none of the above? If the games are good, gamers will play them. Talk about your head-slappingly obvious insights.

and Japanese lass' sexy pictures! I get those a lot still. Those are klez, of course, but it's still annoying to have an email server that can't filter them out...along with the other, more banal subject lines that carry the same annoying 150 kb attachments. But that's not as bad as something attacking picture files, even if this line is somewhat humorous:
"WASHINGTON -- A new virus threatens to strike one of the Internet's most common and useful activities: sharing family photos."
Yeah...I'm sure we're all deeply worried about our family photos. Unless you mean photos of "special families".

Part of the problem with the safedisc was that it wouldn't install. Not much a patch can do with that. I don't even know if I still have the game, or I'd give it another whirl...

Pretty fun game. I remember it mostly as having awful SafeDisc problems; I had to run an IDE cable over to an old computer to get it to run. But fun.

I hate to say it, but I believe the notification on OMM was simply due to a portalofevil shutdown that took out all the sites. They're working on getting stuff back up, but I don't think it's going to be any different than what was there before it went down. In other words, the last update will still probably be from January. Hope I'm wrong, though.
www.gaminginsider.com for bitchx, but she hasn't updated in over a year.
