VR will eventually make it, whether it's occulous or someone else.

Maybe but even with the advances they've made with the technology all I seem to read is how it is fatiguing to use for any length of time.

I wonder how much money Zeni paid for id Software, while Carmack was only responsible for the tech side of things it seems the value of that purchase went down exponentially as soon as Carmack left.

hah! the classics never die. i used that one on a post about rumor of SoF3. i felt so cool =D

They've already made SoF3, it tarnished the name so bad they'll never make another Soldier of Fortune game again.

So, based on the law of Windows, this will be the good one right? I mean: good, flop, good, flop...

...What's the joke? I missed it whilst I was typing.

They're not giving up on trying to herd people into switching to "modern apps", being able to run them on the desktop in a real windowed environment does very little to appease me but I'm sure the drooling masses with make the switch just because it'll be so "easy" for them to get programs from Microsoft's app store.

If they go full retard and make the whole thing work mostly from the "cloud" then it'll be truly time to switch to one of the many flavors of Linux desktop distros.

The audio is intermixed into the multiplayer levels, there's a bunch of background chatter of the cannon fodder ai soldiers. I agree though, it's insanely sized and I wish they would have a mega-compressed audio version to install as well.

looks like they are going all crazy now... at the end you can see a floating, flying remote controlled mini-gun

I have BF4, but its more like Bloatfield 4 now. Its hard enough to find Rush servers, since rush mode was poorly done in this iteration. Most servers don't bother running the 3rd expansion pack maps, so its hard to find servers for those too.

I agree, the main problem is that the maps aren't designed around 64 player yet that is the most popular mode on PC. The china rising rush maps are a complete cluster fuck when you get to the mcoms on the carrier. At least this next expansion pack seems to be more urban based, water maps just don't make for a good battlefield experience.

China rising was pushed out the door before it was finished, there were planned levelution events that didn't make it in, snow and sand storms. Second assault didn't really have the right mix of fan favorites from BF3, not for rush mode anyway. Naval strike well, cluster fuck city like I said.

I've played hundreds of hours of BF4 so far, hopefully the next to expansions can extend it a little.

edit: that thing at the end is a real weapon system, or could be one someday.

So much for him being a replicant, so right off the bat R. Scott is going to need to backtrack and eat crow for him to be in the movie.

This is like Arnold being in the Terminator "reboot", you can't recapture lightning in a bottle.

Old Indy sucked, Old Han will probably suck, let's skip Old Deckard ok?

Old Indy may have sucked, but it has nothing to do with Ford, and everything to do with a shitty script.

Harrison only seems to have one way to play characters now, slightly angry and gruff.

on the flip side people feel gypped if they have really small downloads for DLC, or if it's already embedded into the main install files but just "unlocked" by paying extra for it.

all the Kinectless Xbox One discussion is in the other comments thread. it's a better deal now in Canada if it's really only going to be $399 here.

now that Kinect will be sold separately it should be easier obtain and connect to a PC now. I've heard from schools and devs that the new Kinect 2.0 is a lot better than the old one for their projects. should be great to have the new Kinect in combination with an Oculus Rift.

I thought they made it so you couldn't plug in a Kinect 2.0 for xbox one into a PC. Is there a hack that makes this work?

So there is a free roam mode where anyone can join into your game and there is a story mode which is strictly single player?
I don't quiet understand how the MP works.

looks like MP is something that would be too distracting while trying to play the story mode, do you really want some random or friend entering into your game and taking you away from the objective you're working on?

The other MP mode looks like they use match making to create mini hotspots in the world where you go at it team vs team, this will be ruined by the fact that there won't be any dedicated server hosts (I assume), also unless you're playing with a group of friends working together it'll probably be more frustrating than fun.

MP checkpoint racing, I'm not into that. I usually wreck when playing single player checkpoint racing and constantly restart the race when I screw up.

cheat protection on the PC? I guess nobody knows if there is any.

also, uplay required? It doesn't bother me much but it's not Steam so your friends lists won't carry over.

I'm willing to forgo any reasonable thought into how an Alien gets onto the station, it already looks like it'll be so much better than R. Scott's Prometheus. This is the direction that they should have taken with a prequel to Alien.

games always tend to be better than movies... (well, Alien/Aliens is an exception.)

not games based on movies lol

this one looks good but then so did alien colonial marines initially.
