Verno wrote on Jul 3, 2012, 09:45: I can't really think of any single compelling feature that's worth upgrading from Windows 7 to 8 for. Storage Spaces is pretty niche and there are stable third party solutions already so meh. I'm surprised there will be no XP/Vista upgrade options, I would have thought that would be a good upgrade source for them. I guess they want to preclude old hardware specs from trying to enter the pool. XP is 32 bit and you should really be upgrading to 64 bit, even if I ever do an upgrade from 7 I'd do a clean format/install. |

| It'll be interesting to see how easy it will be to turn off the Metro UI, restore the start button and remove xbox live crap from the release version. |

So now if you're using a device that you've installed Android to by ways of rooting the device you'll need to find a copy of flash player on some nefarious site and side load it. That'll make things more secure for sure. Hmmm... what? They're doing this as part of their phase-out plan for Adobe Flash.
They're not changing anything that you can/can't do today, they're just not continuing development/support for the Jelly Bean OS. Flash is still going to be around for a long time, they're putting limits on who can install the flash player as of August 15th.
Beginning August 15th we will use the configuration settings in the Google Play Store to limit continued access to Flash Player updates to only those devices that have Flash Player already installed. Devices that do not have Flash Player already installed are increasingly likely to be incompatible with Flash Player and will no longer be able to install it from the Google Play Store after August 15th.' I'm all for transitioning away from Flash but this is a crappy way of doing it. |

| Not interested in multiplayer, probably will pick it up when it hits the steam sales bin for $20 and add it to the massive backlog of unplayed games. |

PS1 beta was a blast, then they put a cap on areas where you could fight and the huge brawls were gone.
they made some other tweaks that I didn't care for, never signed up for the monthly pay scheme. |

Aside from Jeff Daniels and Sam Waterston I hated the rest of the cast, I know they're time compressing the news story but they covered just about every angle of the BP oil spill story aside from the use of corexit to disperse it. Spinning the camera around is a piss-poor mechanic for attempting to add drama to a scene.
The mini-sideline-romance-character-interaction was mind numbingly bad.
And who let the terrorist guy (slumdog millionaire) into the newsroom anyway? I can't believe they cast him, thought he sniveled his way back to India because he was crying about how he only got offers to play a terrorist. |

PS1 has not aged well at all. |

I've signed up for a beta key through the main website, I'm not jumping through any hoops (twitter & facebook bullshit) to get a key.
from what I understand initial beta tests will be a weekend affair, long way to go before the game is ready to be played 24/7 which probably won't be till August/September for a wider beta test. |
