It'll be interesting to see how long they can hold out on not having PS2 turn into a pay-2-win game, I still bet the hook will be an extremely slow in game unlock progression unless you pay for XP boosters.
Huge battles are fun but I do enjoy breaking a window when I shoot through it, I don't think PS2 will even have breaking glass. The maps are huge but the structures you fight in are all copy and paste and completely static.
I'm still interested in playing PS2 when it gets to a 24/7 beta at least but it's not the end all be all of FPS shooters. |

It's amazing though, Diablo 3 is so bad everyone seems to have forgotten how awful Borderlands was... or wants to anyway... granted the gamespy shit was lame and having to use a .ini tweak to get a decent FOV was pure bullshit but the game actually wasn't that bad.
B2 uses Steamworks for matchmaking co-op (all copies register on Steam no mater where you buy it) They've also pledged that it'll have in game FOV adjustment and full mouseable interface. |

Holly shit that's a lot of fedex missions.
I tried playing Borderland co-op and the other people just wanted to speedrun the levels, being lower level with them being about 10 higher meant that I couldn't use any of the weapons in the crates. |

If they put the AI for the monsters behind a server you need to connect to then you won't be playing offline.
But they'll still blame piracy if it doesn't sell, or some other off handed jab at how PC gamers don't play "fun" games anymore, only console players do. |

It doesn't look like "Minecraft" it looks like some sort of lame tower defense game that rips off Team Fortress 2 artwork.
If they go their own way or worse use something like Games for Windows Live and not use Steamworks they'll reap what they sow.

Yeah, "continued to support" BF BC2, like they've fixed the VOIP in it? I know everyone likes to rail about VOIP being "broken" but the alternative would be much worse - imagine a game where it worked but you couldn't shut it off and someone went around playing horrid music in the background griefing other players.
I'm not sure I would want it fixed in Battlefield. |

This is going to be a case of "we listened to the community for Battlefied 3 and are implementing many suggestions in Battlefield 4"
If it's not BF2143 or a complete change of era and venue it will be criticized as being a $60 or $70 patch for Battlefield 3. |

Also, DICE has fallen too long ago for me to care about them anymore. RIP BF, maybe by BF7 people will realize it's as bad as CoD. It's $70 for MOH Digital Deluxe Edition, other than this "BF4 beta access" leak you mostly get early access to classes and unlocks. |

It has it's warts but it's still the best multiplayer shooter around, I've tried to get into other games like Red Orchestra 2, Arma series, even *gasp* call of dooty but just find them lacking. I'm interested in trying Planetside 2. |

I've been playing it for about 30 minutes and while it is good, it certainly is simple. Very much like The Bard's Tale, which is great.
But to say it's worth $15.... that's debatable. At the current sale price it's definitely worth it, though. It was more a vote of affirmation over how they were handling the release of the game, for $15 you actually got two versions of the game. One completely free of any DRM and a Steam key if you so choose to want it in your Steam library. I'm glad that their generosity didn't get totally taken advantage of. |

I hope a Dungeon Master remake is the first mod to show up. Will they allow full on modding for the game? I haven't followed the editor updates that closely. |

Bucky wrote on Jul 12, 2012, 14:10: As a general rule, if I'm even interested and it's under $5 I buy it. Anything over $5 has to be something I want--for instance, Rayman Origins is $15 right now. I'm interested, but not enough to bite at that price.
For games I own, I do the obligatory DLC check and pick up the extra content.
Then I wonder if games can go lower. Hard Reset, which is high on my list, is 75% off right now. It's $3.75. Is it really going to get an even greater discount? I'll wait, but damn, even at that price nobody should pass on it. I just think of all the games I already own and haven't finished yet. |
