Creston wrote on Dec 8, 2012, 16:46: Yeah, I don't see them staying afloat much longer. They just can't repeat their Athlon success, and Intel is trouncing them on all fronts.
Better buy some Intel CPUs before AMD goes under, because I can guarantee their (Intel's) prices are going to skyrocket once AMD is gone. Not only that, but the whole "CPU soldered to the motherboard" thing will get implemented not long afterwards as well.
It'll be a really shitty day when Intel becomes the cole PC CPU manufacturer.
Creston Intel isn't on sure footing right now either, the desktop / laptop market is getting trounced by tablets - and very few of those use intel chips right now. |

THQ screwed up big time over that uDraw Wii/xbox360/ps3 drawing tablet, they'll never be able to recover from that loss.
Speaking during an investor Q&A earlier today, CFO Paul Pucino revealed that the publisher has around 1.4 million unsold units collecting dust in its inventory. and then there is the lawsuit
THQ faces a class-action lawsuit after allegedly misleading its shareholders regarding its failed uDraw peripheral.
The publisher has been accused of violating the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 by distributing "materially false and misleading statements," according to a report by GamesIndustry International. The complaint was filed in the US District Court for the Central District of California by shareholder rights firm Robbins Umeda LLP on behalf of THQ's shareholders. |

I already redeemed my Steam key, so I hope I get another for these. if you donated more than the current average - around $5.60 then just click that link you got in your email for the first games. You'll see the extra games there to redeem the steam keys for. |

Is Apple privy to inside information in the form of a new value added tax for all goods imported into the united states?
Apple won't get taxed for this move, if anything they'll get financial assistance and tax relief for doing it.

EA must be flogging the devs that were responsible for Medal of Honor Warfail right about now.
with so much money on the table it's no wonder so many try to get a slice of that pie. |

just over an hour into it, better than I thought it would be performance wise, FOV slider in game - amazing!
depth of field turned off looks better, but you have to edit a config file to do it.
Turn off DOF
also turned off ambient occlusion completely, didn't care for the dark halo around everything.
too many notifications and all of the objects you find have a rather generic graphic for it in your inventory. I guess they didn't want to spend time drawing sea shells and sunglasses.

Steam survey: 32.06% are DX10
Still rocking my GTX 285 and unless there's a sweet deal for a 680 I'm not upgrading right now. It'll probably work on DX10 but I'll miss out on the DX11 features - first thing I did with Crysis 2 was turn off bloom, depth of field, lens flairs, and motion blur.
It'll be interesting to see how good or bad the textures are with this one, they did a horrible job with Crysis 2. |

Why did microsoft think that desktop users wanted an interface made for a touch screen?
they keep showing commercials where people are using their fat, greasy fingers all over the display like this is the preferred way to use a PC now.
I know they've ran out of ideas to interest people in buying new versions of their OS but these gimmicks aren't going to help them.
The surface is their next zune and Windows 8 is the new Windows Vista.
Surface should have been an inexpensive x86 based tablet with dual functioning desktop and touch UI, completely open for development by anyone wanting to write apps for it. That's the only thing that would put the hurt on apple and even give google a run for their money with android.
Windows 8 should have been traditional desktop usage with the addition of optionally using touch UI apps on it - not the other way around.
Microsoft is too full of themselves thinking that the brand name carries enough weight to charge people $600 to $1000 for a tablet, they've got a long way to go before they can capture the apple customer - nothing about the surface "sparkles" like an ipad does and their windows phone looks like a sub $100 device - with no contract mind you. |

What happens if they come close to meeting their goal but fall short? Do they refund peoples money or just keep it?
When is my card charged?
If the project you’re backing is successfully funded, your card will be charged when the project reaches its funding deadline. If the project does not reach its funding goal, your card is never charged. That's why we call them pledges.
okay, I thought they took the money from your account right away.
